Any update on Michelle O'Neill breaching ministerial rules and the inappropriate transfer and reallocation of £100m of European Funding whilst Farming Minister in the Exec.
I wonder if she will step aside until investigations are complete? Or have these allegations been 'buried' for good now?

Somebody else, completely separate from and in no way linked to SF, will have buried it for them, no doubt...

Ah I thought as much, naive of me perhaps to think this might have been followed up properly.

It's important, always has been mate. Northern Ireland isn't just 'another country'

The auld country.

That's Ulster Scots btw and not a reference to an ex Fizzle manager with a European Cup winners medal.

Not much point in having a referendum if the result has already been decided. 'Pointing to the uncertainty and confusion caused after the UK voted to leave the EU, Mr Martin said there was a need to be aware of politicians promoting the idea of a referendum without having "the foggiest idea what will happen the day after it passes." '

About time a southern politician/political party came up for a blueprint for reunification, we've only had to wait 97 years.

Just realised he was probably talking about the Brexit referendum...

Thought this snippet was interesting:

Mr Martin said he believed arrangements would include the continuation of parliaments both North and South.

in a let's keep the non-FF voters and their politicians contained in the gerrymander, so they don't mess up our natural party of governance role in the Dail sort of way, and so we don't have to put up with somebody like Gregory Campbell waving a yoghourt carton in our face every time we pretend to be a Gaelic speaking nation.

Surely waving cheddar cheese and pineapple on a stick would be more appropriate?

In this respect there are a lot of similarities with German reunification, where East Germany was economically less developed than West Germany, and thus needed significant subsidies from West Germany.

The latest data suggests that the Northern Ireland deficit is about 27 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP), or €10.8 billion, which is met by transfers from the UK treasury.

The gap between East German per capita GDP and that of the reunified Germany was similar to that which would apply to a united Ireland.

TFS.

Surely it's time to allow citizens of both North and South Ireland a joint referendum on a united Ireland.

They are allowed.

At the discretion of the NI secretary.

Northern Ireland will vote to remain.

I'm not sure the RoI has any say in this, apart from "Oh f***" after we vote for reunification...
