The P+B WWE Fantasy Draft

Given the success of the Royal Rumble Pool each year, and after discussion in the thread, who would be interested in getting a wrestling fantasy league going?  I'm happy to run it, based loosely around the rules of one on a podcast I often listen to.

For those that haven't heard of one before, those that participate will take their pick from the entire WWE roster, active or not.  If you want to pick the Undertaker for those sweet Wrestlemania points, or even the Rock in the hope that he'll make some kind of match, then that's fine.  It might actually be a good decision given the point scoring system.  Tag teams count as multiple picks, but you don't need to take them all.  If you have all three members of the New Day, for example, you'll get three lots of points for their matches.

I've seen drafts use some pretty elaborate systems for scoring, but I'm proposing a pretty simple one.  Basically, it's all down to wins and losses.  If your wrestler wins a normal match,  he/she gets 10 points.  If they lose, they get -10.  No contests can be an agreed upon score, but DQs count like normal wins/losses depending on who did what.  PPVs, all the points double.  We can add other point scoring options if they're agreed upon, but given I rarely watch RAW and Smackdown, anything that I can't pick up from reading about the results I'd rather not count.

In terms of the draft, this'll probably be what takes the time.  I'd propose no more than 5 rounds (although could go less/more depending on interest, taking turns to pick.  All very American, but it does lead to having to assemble some pretty odd teams.  We can then run for a set time, preferably over a couple of months to start building up points, but again, negotiable.

Now this has been a shite post compared to some of Jamie's, so if this gets off the ground I promise I'll try and live up to that standard from the starting point onwards.

Ok, that's 13 so far, will keep it open a couple more days in case of any stragglers, but don't want too many in there.

Not sure how best to work the draft - I'll post up the order obviously, but people aren't always going to be around when their turn comes up.  I think usually people rank everyone they're interested in picking beforehand, so if someone is missing their pick, they just get the highest one left unpicked.  Could do that if people want to PM me their lists once we're ready to start.  We'll still give plenty of time for people to post their own picks when it's their turn though.

Other than that I'll just make a completely random draft order (and I'll pick last in round)

Alright, we'll give it another day or so, but in the meantime anyone that's interested, could you PM me a choice list for the draft?  Just rank the picks you'd like top to bottom.  Don't need to cover every single person, but try and get a decent enough list.  I'll use this if someone's been absent long enough to miss their pick.  You'll just get the highest ranked guy on your list that hasn't been picked already.  If they've all been picked, I'll add the "next best" option.

Did I not put them on the list?  If so, apologies, yeah they're definitely available.  Although thinking about it, given the episodes are taped, you can easily know who'll get points months in advance.  What does everyone think?  Include them and count all points, include them and just have Takeover points, or not include them at all?
