Yes, this is the same as us in the NHS as well as other public services such as the police, fire service etc. What folk don't realise while they go on about 'gold plated pensions' is there was a reason folk in these jobs needed to retire early- PTSD, physical inability to fulfil the role etc, Good luck if you need a 65 year old firefighter to break through your window and rescue you from a fire filled flat. Has your friend been able to work through the trauma of his experiences properly?

Exactly.......you can't pull the rug out of workers in the emergency services and tell them that they might've signed up for 30 years for a lump sum and pension and then they've now to work extra years for less benefits. Some public service workers pay nothing towards their pension and some pay 12% and deserve all they get.

Sarcasm towards fictional TV characters. Disappointing yet predictable. Verging on shameful...

He sorted oot the Slade prison riot with just a few words.

Apparently it all kicked off when the telly broke down for 2 days. Hardcore Strictly fans worried they'll miss the final.

A riot because a tv broke? Surprised there are that many Chelsea fans in Birmingham to be honest.
