Hoping the Americans go a wee bit off target with them rockets. I could do with the points for Assad being KO'd.

so you're hoping for a big hit for the Twilight Assad then...

Australian (well New Zealand really) satirist John Clarke dies suddenly at 68 walking in the Grampians (Australian variety). His Clarke & Dawe skits on ABC just before the 7pm news on Thursday nights where he portrayed an Australian politician or Government official were excellent. Not sure if any of his stuff has been on TV over there but he was in a TV series called The Games about the lead up to the Sydney Olympics and he was also in a film called Death In Brunswick and the voice of Wal in Footrot Flats: A Dog's Tale. Wal was probably close to an early NZ character he did called Fred Dagg.

Fred Dagg is a blast from the past, I lived in NZ as a kid. Forgot all about him until you mentioned him, in my defence, I left in '78.

He Yakkied then Died.

Veteran BBC broadcaster David Parry-Jones dies aged 83

Quote

She said Mr Parry-Jones had great pride in being educated at Merton College in Oxford. He began his career as a journalist with The Times before joining the BBC to work in television.

All that and all he could do was drone on about rugby. Should have gone gone down the mines and given someone else a go.
