Think there was under 100 at Strathspey Thistle yesterday.

Under 100 what - sheep, deer, red squirrels, paying fans?

If anyone has any doubts about how competitive the 18 team Highland League is, Lossiemouth beat Brora 4-1 tonight, Fort William drew 2-2 with Clachnacuddin and Keith beat Forres 3-2. Fcuk 10/10.

It was at first a truer Highland League - founded in 1893, the first members were exclusively from Inverness, Nairn and Elgin shires.

First team from Banffshire (now part of Moray) did not appear until 1909 in the shape of Buckie, then Keith in 1924 and Deveronvale in 1938... First team from Aberdeenshire - excluding a couple of brief appearances from Aberdeen's reserves - did not appear until Fraserburgh in 1922, Huntly in 1928 and Peterhead in 1931.

Brora became the first team from Sutherland in 1963; it was as late as 1986 that Aberdeen first gained proper representation in the shape of Cove; plus Caithness had to wait until Wick in 1994.

For many decades the Aberdeenshire League held a separate sway to the east.

how did Aberdeen's reserves get on?

In the 3 seasons leading up to WWI - they won the league at a canter; narrowly finished 2nd; and narrowly finished 3rd. They then returned for 1924-25 - again won the league easily.

Was closer to 60 when we played them last season. Probably one of the poorest crowds I have seen in over 30 years, was at a Lossie/Vale game at Grant Park a few seasons back which was closer to 50, but Scotland were playing that day, same kick off time as well. Have seen crowds as low as 150 at Vale/Buckie games.

Wick have always been well supported can remember when they were getting home crowds of well over a 1000 when they first came into the league Locos were the same. Was a decent sized home support when we were up this season, wicks always one of the better away days, locals always make us feel welcome. Would say the top two away days are Rothes and Wick.
