Took in the Vale/Nairn game tonight , gutted to lose in the end but fair play to Nairn who battled hard with nine men to the very end. Just seen the match report on the Nairn official website, Vale fans not allowed to shout their team on?

“Also, our players were spat on by spectators during the game. Our goalkeeper was spat on when he was down the end we were defending in the second half and three or four other players have been spat on when they were down that end, including Gregg Main, who was spat on in the face.

“We have then found out that Gregg was sent off after the game for making a fist-pump gesture to fans at that end when was at the halfway line, a good 60 yards away, as he was walking off the park at full time. That was after they had spat in his face and it means that we are the ones who are now being penalised when our players have been spat on.

“I find it completely classless and there is no room for it in football."
