Or do you stick to having meetings with yourself in toilet cubicles?? It`s tedious listening to constant moaning about something that the clubs have the ultimate power to change. I`ll say it again for you in BIG LETTERS. LOBBY YOUR CLUB AS A CONCERNED SUPPORTER AND SEE WHAT RESPONSE YOU GET. From where I`m standing the clubs themselves either have no appetite for change or to pursue this perceived issue or they don`t actually see it as an issue..... Darvel Pie
I will be putting in a request to have a seasons long fixture list before the AGM and hope to have enough support of other clubs to see it through. It's a farce that Whitletts played their first league game away then 6 games at home. Not good for finances and would hate Darvel to have been given that. So the whole fixture list for the season comes out. One Saturday you are due to play Beith who are in the Senior Scottish that day because they won through the preliminary round. Next Saturday you are due to play Auchinleck who drew the week before in the Senior Scottish and so you have no game again as they are playing their replay. Now you have a Junior Cup tie and you have not played for two weeks. The next Saturday, your opponents drew last week in the Scottish so they are playing their replay and you have no game again. Your next opponents drew in the Scottish and because of bad weather their replay was postponed last week so it goes ahead this week and you have no game again. Ok it is an extreme scenario but it could happen. It is very difficult to organise fixtures even a month in advance with so many competitions, replays and postponements. I`m well aware of the very scenario that you propose, hypothetical or unlikely as it may seem. I also get the feeling that the majority of clubs look at it from this perspective as well. My point is that if/when a full season fixture list is published then the serial complainers will have to find something else to whinge about in relation to fixtures....maybe it could be Summer football...lol
Sancho Panza
Aye ok let's leave it as is, teams playing 6 in a row away or 7/9 at home. The only league in the world where that happens

Who ever gets the job next needs to try and do it better but it would end up a farce trying to give out a years fixtures

blastie_12
So we shouldn't try for better because replays and weather could cause problems? That really the logic were applying here?Didn't realise the current way of doing the fixtures weren't affected by replays or weatherThis is obviously above my level of comprehension, I'll shut the door on my way out
Sancho Panza
4 weekly fixtures would be a good compromise I think. Pretty sure there is not a league anywhere in the UK at any level where a team would get 6 away games in row. That alone is enough reason for change. HibeeJibee
Tbf, that's down to certain formats and competitions they do down there... they play from the end of July to the start of May, take a couple of weeks break at Christmas, plus have lots of cups. They do seem to be going even more hell-for-leather with leagues games early-doors than usual this season, tbf. You could as equally raise an eyebrow at the West Juniors with their sectional cup taking-up the first month, the September holiday weekends, the scrambled finish for the Evening Times Cup, running into June, and so on. Note however that with the exception of groundsharer Edusport all the clubs have played roughly the same number of home-and-away games. Indeed the SOSL have fixtures out until Christmas and normally have a few months in advance - despite the apparent perils of weather, cup-ties and replays. In the West Juniors you don't normally know who's playing who a week on Saturday. Plenty other leagues have full/partial lists but aren't like SOSL, anyway. classof2010
Because the Scottish cup takes precident over all fixtures it wud be impossible for a season long fixture list cut out shit regional cups at beginning season and get stuck into league games and why not start end of July to stop the farce of 3 or 4 games a week in may
