Nkomo-A-Gogo
I'm just back to our hotel having spent the afternoon at Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum. Load by Breugels the elder; this was my favourite. Im sure McQues pub in Bannockburn had that and others like it as place mats for their bar meals years ago.

MONKMAN
The Wedding at Cana - Paolo Veronese It can be found directly opposite the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, and in my opinion is infinitely more impressive. The sheer size and detail of the painting is almost unbelievable.
Mr Pikey
Went to the Lowry museum in Manchester and was amazed by this painting. The matchstick paintings are great but the eyes on this self portrait always fascinate me.

However he was the Damian Hirst of his day. He signed works off but actually got underlings to do them. If you look at his Inferno for instance many of the pictures are clearly the work of different artists with noticeably different styles.
Ya Bezzer!
George Flegel was a German artist from 16th/17th century who did some interest still life pictures that have a sort of eerie quality to them. Most of them are of food items but usually with a variety of bugs - flies, bees, dragonflies, etc dotted around.
