Savage Henry
Disgusting fat pig Chris Christie gone as well. I’m sure he’ll take his defeat in good spirit. If this was a bellwether day for the midterms, the Republicans are going to get decimated. Just goes to show what happens when patronising Democrats look locally instead of crying about gerrymandering and media bias, and keep Clinton completely out of the equation. Also goes to show what happens when you try running on a Trump ticket. Gillespie was pushing for a victory, Trump endorsed him (although I suspect Gillespie would rather he hadn’t), went for the populist vote, got crushed. Trump threw a hissy fit and disowned him. Make no mistake, Gillespie was running on a Trump agenda, and that got him crushed. Pleasing.

It’s took a while but his recent disdain for the people he was elected by was eventually going to have a negative impact. Paco
I guess it could be spun as Clinton-voting states voting in Democrats, which with the continued polarisation of US politics is hardly surprising... but hopefully that’s the first signs of cracks coming through.

Take out the Congressional special election in Utah, the NYC mayor race, and the NJ governor race. Virginia was a real test. The statewide Republican candidates underperformed the polls and other Republicans in recent years. It looks like the Republicans may hold on to the House of Delegates by a razor thin margin, but that's down from a near 2/3rds majority. The best that can be said for Trump is that he was not asked to campaign and Gillespie specifically avoided "Trump outlets" like Breitbart. The swamp / Wall St Republicans need to look at what changing demographics can do to the politics of a state like Virginia.

welshbairn
Bannon was backing Gillespie on radio 2 days before the election. Now the Breitbart headline is "Republican Swamp Thing Gillespie is Rejected."

Interesting that a political group with a specific ethnic group in it's name and a slogan like "We are the future" is allowed to be part of respectable politics. They just imported a bunch of new voters, told them they'd look out for their ethnic interests, and won an election. It is what it is. It's the left wings strategy for being able to rule. It's not sustainable in the long run though. In 1970 1 in 100 Virginians was a foreigner. Today it's 1 in 8 or 1 in 9. The Virginia that existed in 1970 is under a foreign occupied government, the same if they'd been militarily conquered. As Breitbart put it: "A middle-aged person living in parts of Virginia today will have witnessed more demographic change in the span of his life than many societies have experienced in a millennia."

Trump’s probably the most diligent, hardest-working president we’ve ever had in our lifetimes. It’s not like he sleeps in till noon and goes golfing every weekend, like the last president did.”Fox News viewer?"Ninety-nine percent of the time I watch Fox,” he said. “Sometimes I’ll be sitting there listening to all this Fox stuff, and I’ll say, ‘Maybe they aren’t right, maybe I’ll flip to CNN’—but every time I’ve found that Fox has been correct, and CNN is definitely fake news.”[emoji849]

People believe Trump’s lies. The damage he has done to the office of the presidency is perhaps irreparable. People don’t watch the news in the USA (just as they don’t read news papers in the UK for news). They watch so they can be told whatever they already believe, and that’s their measure of truth.

Good lord, man, give yourself a shake. Quite frightening how low CNN have fallen into fake news and bullshit that one needs to look to Fox Fucking News for some balance and break from the demented Narrative.
