Argyle
I recently purchased a medal , on the front are the words Southern Counties Challenge Cup on the rear runners up 1927/28, the reason I bought it was my home town from the South of Scotland League were the beaten finalists that season. I am however unable to confirm this 100% as Southern Counties is used in England for many sports but was there a Southern Counties Challenge football cup played for down South during this time. HibeeJibee
If it's football, it's almost certainly the Dumfries & Galloway version, IMO. In England the southerly counties each had a county cup of their own. There was (possibly still is) a tournament between county select XIs but it's the "Southern Counties Amateur Championship".
