Well strange game that one, didnt think we played well at all but went in 3-1 up at half time.

Delighted for longworth to get his goal will silence his critics for a few weeks.

Got to agree. The turning point was Cook going off injured. We were unlucky to be one down but once the 2nd went in we just collapsed. It's a familiar story.

Spence was too much for our defence to handle.

Dont think it was a collapse! tactics were wrong after the first goal went in , I can see your problems come from your  defence. your forward line isnt too bad!

Funny game football. Last week we dominated possession, but only created two or three half chances. This week, we were a bit ragged first half, but scored three well taken goals and could have had a couple more.

Second half I thought we were very comfortable, especially after Goody was replaced by Holmer.

Stenny were OK apart from defensively, where they were run ragged by the play of our attackers. Cook going off was a big loss for them.

Delighted to see Longworth get a full ninety minutes and of course a goal. I thought that was the best Kevin Cawley has played since he came back. Cracking finish from him too. Also thought Taggart was again excellent; tremendous amount of running.

Thought the two up top linked well and there movement created space for KC and kilpartick. We also had some variation in corners and set plays which caused Stenny problems. The second half some our quick passing and inter link play  was superb. KC deserved his man of match award. Glad to see longworth get on score sheet

On today's performance Stenny looked a very poor side which could have lost by six or seven.

This is true but by the same token, we could have scored four goals. We didn't in the same way Alloa didn't score 6 or 7. At 1-0 and 3-1 the Alloa keeper made two great saves. Credit to him. It was another odd game for us. At 3-1 we were still in it, but once the 4th went in it was game over.

Where do you start if your a stenny fan? Play relatively well and end up 3-1 down at half time!! We really are killing ourselves with our defensive errors just now. Cookie looked like he picked up a bad injury in his 50-50 with the keeper as well, didn't really see it, did he clatter his head when he fell?

the first goal looked offside from a poor goal kick but I'm not sure if it was the Alloa or stenny player who played the ball into the path of the lad who scored. Second goal from a corner, the Alloa left backs delivery was absolutely spot on all game and was causing mass panic every time he put the ball in the box. In fact there tended to be mass panic every time the ball got played anywhere near any of our back 4. The third goal is a free header at the back post and we were all over the place for the fourth. On the plus side Roy took his goal well but looks a little lightweight for the two 6foot 5 centre halfs he'll be facing each week at this level. Despite the score we did create some chances and were it not for a combination of good goalkeeping and bad refereeing the score might have been a bit closer. Thought we had a blatant penalty shout ignored

That beeing said, the ref had a nightmare! Did Goodwin have him out in nighthawks on Friday night showing him the Alloa nightlife??!! He was lucky not to get Two yellows, not necessarily for the severity of fouls but more the amount of fouls he was accumulating, I think the Alloa bench noticed this as well before subbing him.

Still no point moaning about it now! We are where we are for a reason and until we start cutting out the silly mistakes and gifting the opposition goals not much is going to change!

Goodwin mistimed a challenge slightly in the 2nd half. The ref played the advantage and Goody immediately signalled to the bench he was coming off. Thought his replacement Holmes was excellent when he came on.

Quite an open first half. Thought we started very strongly then after going ahead fell out of it for a bit. Stenny quite decent going forward but pretty weak at the back.

We played some excellent stuff overall, and despite being a bit open in the first half we were clearly the better side in a very good team performance. Spence, Cawley and the full backs in particular all excellent.

Good to see Longworth getting a goal- very important given he got a place in the starting 11. Every chance he will keep his place next week if as expected Flannigan isn't risked at Palmerston.

Looked quite a poor crowd yesterday in terms of numbers from both sets of supporters. Thought Stenhousemuir would have brought a wee bit more through after winning last week.

We don't make the prices  and we have complained no end to get them reduced !, personally It does not deter me from supporting my team home or away , for a couple of quid difference you refuse to support your team ? your choice but maybe you knew the score in advance ?
