We need to stop losing to teams like QP and East Fife now or beating Alloa and Brechin counts for nothing. Still, TOP OF THE LEAGUE AND YOU'RE NO has a nice sound to it.. We never looked troubled, defence was rock solid, Longridge had his best game for us in a long time, Scott Pittman was outstanding and ran the game, Buchanan had the Brechin defence running around in circles. I was worried it was going to be one of those days because we couldve been and maybe should've been 3 up bar from some really good goalkeeping. 2nd half was exactly the same, keeper making great saves and the bar coming in to play to frustrate as well. If the game had finished 6 or 7 nil I don't think many from the Brechin persuasion could've complained. Its still early in the season but it's nice to be back top of the league, of coarse a long way to go but that's a great win today and is now the standard that we need to continue playing at. That was our first clean sheet in the league this season. 3-0 against Edinburgh City in July was the last competitive clean sheet we got. 1-0 win against Rangers back in April was the last clean sheet in a league game (14 games if you count the Stranraer playoffs, 12 if you don't). citydiehard Posted October 29, 2016 Share Posted October 29, 2016 Bottled it again against the bigger team.Dodds has only one formation and Livi sussed it out,plus he doesn't know how to change it.Defending was crap today,mind you Dodds wasn't a defender he was a cart horse just like our defenders today. I could hear Dods screaming at our midfield to press but it never really happened and Livi moved the ball around much better. At home or certainly against the better teams in this league we need to have a different style and be a little more positive ourselves. We are not where we are today by lacking believe but lets show believe a bit more ion how we approach games. Yes the formation has taken us to where we are but some tweaking is required or have another option as we will become predictable and easier to play against. Felt sorry for buzz hill and Mccormack who were our only 3 that I'd give pass marks to! Like I said in a pre match post, we need to be able to change our tactics against teams that sit in to frustrate us and mug us on the counter. Teams like Alloa and Brechin suit how we play and give us enough space to get at their goal. Reading post match comments from Brechin only being able to play one way is exactly what Livi fans said after the Rovers defeat, our next league game is against East Fife and they had the measure of us tactically the last time we played them. The guy that does the video is pretty inconsistent when it comes to putting highlights up. Two weeks ago he put them up on the following Friday, last week he put them up the same night.
