A horrific journey (460 odd miles) but well worth it. Really competitive match and that's the sort of game that this Clyde team enjoys.

We lined up with Gormley wide left, Linton wide right and Flynn alongside McLaughlin in midfield. McNeil at left-back. Looked to hit a lot of long balls, particularly for Johnston to chase.

I'd be surprised if any observer feels we didn't deserve the victory but as always small moments can swing things the other way. We were indebted to a phenomenal finger tip save in the second half from Gibson, whilst they carried a decent threat throughout. However, we had better chances and more of them. MacDonald really should have scored with a free header from a Linton cross in the first half, whilst Linton hit a great shot straight at Malin. We looked threatening from set pieces throughout the game (and there were a lot of long throws and corner kicks) and one finally dropped for us; Higgins scoring his now typical close range finish. After that we were really comfortable, particularly following McNiff's introduction which saw McNeil pushed into midfield and he did superbly to set up Flynn for the second.

Gibson did a great impression of an excellent goalkeeper, Smith and Perry imperious again, Linton and McLaughlin the same as usual and that is the key as to why we'll challenge this year. McNeil is an absolute star; excellent at left-back, right wing and central midfield today and covers some amount of ground. Flynn very good, probably his best display in a deeper position than normal. Gormley worked his socks off; I can only hope that something drops for him.

Brora a decent side. Would be doing better than Edinburgh in the league anyway.

B'jesus,Joseph and Mary,a great day at Brora and Clyde won well, although  Brora played well in parts, but the Clyde defence kept the Brora front line under wraps.0-0 at half time and a fair reflection of play, but Clyde always looked likelier to score and they did. Clyde look like champions in the waiting and Brora lost nothing in defeat. Good atmosphere at ground and good crowd. Good luck to Clyde, till the next time we meet..........B'Jesus the thought is mouthwatering.
