Therefore I think a pull on the jersey would be deemed deliberate so it would be a red card. We at least that's what I believe to be the case! Yep, if the ref believes that a player made a genuine attempt to play the ball then it is only a yellow, if he believes that it was a deliberate foul with no attempt to get the ball then it's red.
