Thistle v Accies. October 16 edition.

I don't remember Imrie playing a CB mate, 1 too many cider and moonshine for you. Agree with the summary regarding Donati though.

Cheers, honey. I don't even know what I posted, so someone agreeing with me is a bonus.

Archie is getting an incredibly easy ride from our support. Our squads a fucking shambles.

He's certainly made an arse of the summer window, and his tendency in the case of a narrow lead to invite pressure on a shit defence in even games like today is one of his worst traits as a manager. Most of what's been going wrong today and in recent weeks can be traced back to his decision-making.

He won't be put under a great deal of scrutiny unless we're adrift at the bottom though. His goal for the time being is to keep our heads above water until January, at which point he must immediately atone for the signing of Danny Devine. He's patched up a struggling team at this level before, hopefully he'll do so again.

He won't be under any scrutiny at all, regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season. He's in a very similar situation to Martin Canning.

Two teams who will be fighting against relegation is what I watched today. Jags grew in some confidence through first half and deserved to lead at break. Chris Erskine was best player on park by a country mile and Edwards was also worth the entrance fee as well as Scully who pulled off a few good saves but rest of team struggled along most of the match, especially the last 20-30 minutes. Some shocking indiscipline and they didn't look fit. Accies deserved to equalize and we saw it coming. They where unlucky not to win. Defence is a shambles, we miss Bannigan and whilst Barton and Osman played ok I think Barton needs to possibly replace Devine as two defensive midfielders are not needed and stopped us creating in final third. Erskine and Edwards were exhausted after 60-70mins. Azeez and Amoo didn't make an impact at all.
But at least we are off the bottom which is good news.

A draw all in was probably a fair result considering we were such shitebags in the second half. Unsure if we blew our load too early in the first half with all the sexy football or just decided that letting Accies have a pop was better tactics. After Hamilton equalised we just looked not bothered whereas Accies actively pushed for the win.

Sowah was the shittest player on the park. We were the shittest team all in and second bottom flatters us.

Eta. Are Accies fans the only bunch outside the Old Firm that requires a fucking police escort post game? Hilarious.

Can't see any argument for anything other than a draw was a fair result between what increasingly looks like will be the bottom two teams in the league at the end of the season (I haven't watched Dundee yet this season, though). The way we shat ourselves in the second half is becoming more and more predictable by the week. Our midfield completely disappeared and we just invited Accies on to our abysmal defence.

It's time for the manager to take some of the blame for not sorting the clear defensive issue. It has been apparent all season, league cup games included, that Devine and Lindsay as a partnership is just not going to work, yet there appears to be no desire at all to rectify it. Devine is an absolute bombscare and every time the ball goes anywhere near him, I'm expecting the worst. The one tackle he won today, he ended up getting booked for though, which was baffling. Barton looks like a total nothing player based on the two games so far, some nice touches, but that's about it. As others have said, blowing out his arse after an hour so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he gets fully fit, which needs to be soon considering it's now the middle of October. I would still start him at CB over Devine though, he can't be any worse. Gordon was exposed for being out of position far too often, and stands off for far too long before deciding to make challenges. Good luck to him and to the better team he'll get next season. Dumbuya can't come back quick enough. Scully made a couple of great saves, but as others have said, he has a horrible habit of palming shots into the centre of the box. Better teams would have probably punished us for that.

Edwards is extremely frustrating. Picks the ball up in midfield and drives forward before losing it before he reaches the 18 yard box. Absolutely no substance to anything he contributes. Lawless has done sweet f**k all this season (as an aside, I'm getting sick of him not learning how to use social media appropriately. Probably pathetic on my part, but it does grate me). Doolan can't buy a goal just now, and the fact that we also have another misfiring striker as his backup is really frustrating.

It's beginning to look like we'll be playing Championship football if we don't sort the increasingly obvious frailties very soon. Four points is a must from our next two games.

To be fair to the police I think they got a fright when they saw 20 odd West Ham fans in our end who were here for the supporters cup match in the morning.

We should have been out of sight by half time but instead incredibly went in 2-1 down. Thistle started stronger in second half to kill the game but credit to us for coming back into it equalising and should have gone onto win. Another 2 points dropped to continue the routine of going ahead in games only to end up drawing or losing. This could come back to haunt us later on in the season. Oh and let's not forget the fact that we have only won once in 9 league games, that good enough, I don't think so?

Wasn't there, but thoroughly unsurprised that both sets of fans are describing it as a game of two shit teams.

Thankfully for both of us there appear to be a number of other shit teams again this season, which means it could be another exciting season at the bottom. It would have been nice not to be involved in that business for once, but I can't see how we won't be with our diddy defence.
