Off to a cousin's wedding in Rockhampton, middle of next month.

Flying out with KLM via Schipol to Kuala Lumpur. 3 nights there then onwards with Singapore Airlines via Singapore & Brisbane.

4 nights in Rockhampton, then fly up to Townsville. 3 nights there then take the 'Spirit of Queensland' train up to Cairns.

1 night in Cairns then over to Singapore with 3 nights there before flying back with Swiss via Zürich.

Days at the races in KL & Rockhampton planned, plus hit the casinos in Townsville, Cairns & Singapore. Also football games on on both the nights I'm in Singapore (my mate there has already advised against, saying it is shite!)

So far in 2017 I've been to;

Stockholm for the Europa league final in May

Now officially booked up for;

Bali and Abu Dhabi August.

Vegas - week in September

Franfurt for the Dortmund Frankfurt game in October

Abu Dhabi / Dubai - week in October/November

London for a long weekend in December

That's definitely my lot.

So far:

Houston & New Orleans in January/February for the Super Bowl

West Highland Way in April

Wroclaw in June

I've a few long weekends here in Scotland still to go - a wedding down south and a festival up here. Other than that I've still got a fancy for a week or so lazing on a beach somewhere hot. I haven't been on a lazy poolside/beach-side holiday in a couple of years and it was actually the only thing on my wishlist to do this year until Christmas-time when Houston was suggested. Hopefully squeeze it in as I've got a trip to Canada snowboarding and visiting a mate there pencilled in for early next year already and I'm hoping to head somewhere else further afield too, maybe America again or Australia this time.

You might consider one of these.

In case your expectant beloved gets morning sickness on a midsummer Italian train.

Let's keep these jokes on the general nonsense forum where they belong, this is for serious conversation.

I was being mostly serious. It will be seriously hot, some of the trains might be air conditioned though.This is what my sister packs when travelling with my elderly mother, just in case.

Haha I will look into it, she usually complains about things like the heat at best of times so I can imagine she will be a nightmare on this holiday. She's feeling better though and we will be at 15 weeks when there.

You'll be fine. In Italy if it's too hot you can usually just go up a couple of hundred feet and you get a gentle cool breeze. My other sister went skiing at 8 months and my nephew turned out great.

Booked trip to Orkney in September having failed to find anywhere suitable for a wheelchair in the Highlands that wasn't booked solid. Any tips about Kirkwall would be appreciated.

Booked my flights for South East Asia. Two nights in Bangkok, two in Siem Reap (near Angkor Wat), three in Hanoi, four in Da Nang (central Vietnam) and three in Ho Chi Minh City.

Going late September-early October.

Just need to pay for hotels now!
