Dembele for Scotland?

THE KING

Recommended Posts

The Hargreaves situation was a bit of a kick in the teeth for us Canada fans as he was developed by Canadian coaching and it seemed that he only decided to play for England because he was good enough to.  That may be a biased impression but at the time it hurt.

As for young Dembele, apparently HITC sport think that Brendan Rodgers should give him a Celtic debut this year

Why is win-at-all-costs only for club football?

There clearly are eligibility rules, but they aren't remotely the same as nationality.

well because the whole idea of internationals is to represent a countrys best select team, there are different ways of defining nationality but getting people with the slightest of connections to represent you isn't what it should be all about, if a players first visit to a country is to play for them then how can he possibly be a reflections of said countrys talent?

there is more of a case for people who have moved here as kids and gone through our systems than the grandson of some one who emigrated at 16 and died before his grandkids were born.

Club teams are not there to represent anything, their job is to find the best possible players they can afford and sign them to play for them under a contract, if you want win at all cost how about we just f**k the rules, hand out citizen ship to anyone we think is good enough and have them play for us, we might have 11 spannish italiens Mexicans whatever but it would improve the results?
