Old Firm referee bias.

Recommended Posts

After Don Robertson bottling sending off a Celtic player at the weekend, the same ref doesn't red card Harry Forrester for a shocker of a tackle tonight.

Are the refs scared? are they instructed from their paymasters not to upset the big two?......or are they just pish?

I'm sure fans of all teams could quote horrific incidents which their team have been on the wrong end of when playing against these two.

Virgil Van Dijk nearly killed Michael Ngoo during a Celtic - Kilmarnock match a couple of years ago and escaped any sort of punishment. He didn't even get arrested afterwards, but if he'd done that in the street he'd have received at least 10 years in the jail.

Scared would be the excuse, biased is closer to the truth.

The whole 'evens out at the end of the season' argument is pish as well, the old firm get the odd one or two decisions against them, which are amplified by the media to look like they're always the victim, to the rest having at least 3 dubious decisions against each cheek over a season.

Love it....you mention refs being biased against Celtic & Stan & the gang are demanding you provide dossiers to support your opinion. Mention bias towards the Glasgow pair &....well nothing.

Oh goody. Another opportunity for DavieBhigot to play the victim.

But a puddle is essentially rainwater and if collected carefully could actually be good for you. Perhaps therefore some referees drink from dirty puddles and some drink from recycled rainwater samples. You may well have inadvertently hit the nail on the proverbial head there kfc.

I preferred it when the whistle blowers went on strike and brought in foreign referees, they didn't give a flying f**k about who was who in the league and weren't intimidated because the fannies didn't know who or where these refs lived to send threats or pan windaes in.

I'll have to agree with the majority here, the refs shit bricks when faced with making the big decision against the twa arse cheeks.

I doubt there is a conscious bias towards any teams and a referee goes into a game trying their best to give the correct decisions (this does not always go to plan) but there are going to be some external factors which affect decision making. Home team, crowd size and media coverage are bound to have some minor affect on certain decisions.referees simply call it as they see it and sometimes they see it wrong. Obviously everyone feels aggrieved when a poor decision goes against their team especially when that decision can ultimately cost their team points, positions or even silverware (any notion that these decisions balance themselves out over a season is completely ludicrous).

over the 38 games each team plays, teams will have gained points from poor refereeing and teams will have lost points. I wouldn't assume every season for Celtic and Ranger to have always benefited however over the course of many seasons the bigger support a team has and the more media coverage a team gets, the greater number of points they will receive from refereeing decisions
