They were old cluster bombs we sold them ages ago. Past their sell by date now and probably quite dangerous.

The bomblets that don't explode will make nice toys for Christmas though.

Ronald Fiddler died recently in a suicide attack in Mosul. Hapless tourist imprisoned by the Taliban then shipped by the Americans to Guantanamo to be tortured and converted to Jihadism by his fellow inmates? Or not?

There's been a new audio message from a British ISIS fighter, Abu Adam al-Britani.  He's in Raqqah.  In it he says that he wasn't a "loser" before joining ISIS, says that in the UK he "made more money in a day than you make in a month" and drove a Porsche.    Not sure if the message also says he shagged a girl from up near his Gran's bit.

I'm sure that'll be a big consolation when he gets turned into a pile of dust by a US or Russian bomber or a Kurdish woman blows his head off.  Hard lines Adam.

At least 230 people killed by a car bomb in Mogadishu.

Things like this barely make the news.

It's made the news now, although Google News has made the slightly strange editorial decision to illustrate the story with a picture of George Michael and Elton John...

Why on earth is the USA and no doubt UK arming isil?   Can anyone answer that?   Why are journalists not screaming this question at our politicians every day?   Where are all the investigative reporters?   Why is this not being asked in parliament?

It's because it is politically expedient for us to be seen to be doing something but electoral suicide to send lots of troops.

War by proxy and remote control is the only viable option.

We don't have a clue what is actually going on so just pick a team to back at random until it becomes public that they are also the baddies. And repeat.

What's everybody's predictions for a square go between ISIS and the Taliban?
