Brexit slowly becoming a Farce.

I see that May has promised £350m a week to the NHS (in England) and is trying to pass it off as a Brexit dividend despite saying taxes will have to rise to pay for it and the bank of England telling us that Brexit uncertainty is costing the economy £400m a week.

Although the Express must use the Seville calculator because they are reporting £600m a week.

This is just a PR stunt - I'm certain that the NHS won't see money of this sort.

The "Brexit Dividend" as they call it, is based on us no longer sending large amounts of money to the EU when leave, but if we're still looking at a customs or single market deal then we'll still have to pay in.

If you go back several pages you might find some interesting comments on the subject of Brexit....

Don't doubt there is the occasional bout of rationality, but if I were to post about how the events of the last week have led me to change my mind on a soft Brexit being the likely outcome due to a perfect storm of circumstances that has led to several normally reasonably pragmatic political parties being led by people that are convinced they need a hard Brexit to carry out a radical policy agenda in future, odds on the referendum obsessed cranks would find a way to turn it into another turgid unionist vs nationalist thing.

By the time it gets put in place £600 million will probably be worth £350 million in today's money...

Am I right in saying Scotland no longer has to increase taxes in line with Westminster policy, but would receive a ‘bonus’ based off the rUK tax rise if it is ploughed into healthcare as a result of the Barnett formula?

Would be pretty funny.

This is the core of it:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-5850479/PETER-OBORNE-Corbyn-man-saves-Brexit.html?ITO=1490

...Of course, Corbyn's reasons for supporting Brexit are different indeed to those that drive Tories like Jacob Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson, who seek to liberate us from the shackles of an unelected bureaucracy in Brussels.

Corbyn opposes the European Union because he believes it is a capitalist club which will prevent him nationalising Britain's key companies and industries, and turning the country into a socialist state.

That's why in 1993 he said the foundation of a European Central Bank under the Maastricht Treaty would 'undermine any social objective that any Labour Government in the United Kingdom — or any other Government — would wish to carry out'...

All very well, but Corbyns labour party have very little chance of forming a UK govt in the forseeable future if ever.

Meanwhile millions of British workers are about to lose their rights under working time regulations, guaranteed sick pay and 28 days holiday.

To be a "working class" Brexiteer is really not very bright.

Robert Peston succinctly demolishing May's "Brexit bonus for the NHS" spiel.

If you know of anyone gullible enough to genuinely believe in a Brexit bonus let me know as I have a couple of imaginary bridges to unload.
