Falcor Roar
Paterson needs to work on beating his man. Otherwise I thought he did ok for a young guy coming in. Can't say I know enough about Love but he needs to play for a season or two I think. Can see him playing for Bradford in 3 years.
troopio
I do not think Patterson was that bad, certainly looked a much more assured option than Hutton whose final ball further up field was always very abysmal. Granted Patterson could have done better with the goal but last time I checked the entire defence was at fault for the goal not just him. Bear in mind it was his first start, could have went worse and everyone needs to start somewhere.

Inexperienced, yes. But surely still a better option than Hutton or Paterson. Thought Paterson was rank v Malta. Love is absolutely rancid. Maybe in time he'll improve but just now he should be nowhere near the Scotland team.

I'd tend to stick with the two full backs to bed them in, not least since we don't really have better options and they are1st picks at their clubs. Centre half is our issue and I'd normally want to stick with Martin n Hanley but both aren't playing and it really showed. Berra may have to come in if he's still a first pick. Not a fan of chopping n changing but ch is too important a position to have guys not playing regularly

Savage Henry
The correct answer to the difficult right back problem is Phil Bardsley. I thought Paterson was absolutely brutal, and I'd rather Hutton was in there. As I'm sure he will be if he starts getting a game.
RandomGuy.
Bardsleys 31 and doesn't give a single f**k about Scotland, he was asked about the "snub" by reporters in Stoke, and this was his answer.. Quote A defiant Phil Bardsley took a mild swipe at Scotland boss Gordon Strachan after again sitting out an international weekend. The 30 year-old defender hasn't played for his country for two years and admits he's clearing off on holiday during the current international break. He says of the current crop of internationals: "I'm not really interested to be perfectly honest... I just want to go on holiday for four days! "If somebody doesn't think I'm good enough to play for my country, so be it. I thought that quote was going to be something really repugnant like "Meh, I couldn't care less about the sweaties anyway. I'm off to see the Queen, gawd blessah!" But TBF it sounds more like he is hacked off about not getting picked and is unconvincingly trying to suggest he's 'not bovvered anyway'. In any case I don't buy the clamour to have him in the squad. A decent option but similar quality to what we already have. Perhaps he's better at the defensive side of things that Hutton and Paterson, but only a little. craigkillie
He's Stoke's second choice right-back - we're hardly missing out on Cafu here.
craigkillie
Glen Johnson is Stoke's first choice. Bardsley has only been playing because he is injured.
King Kebab
Missing the point, the fact is he's been playing, playing at a higher level than any of our other RB choices and playing well, he should be in the squad, especially for such a weakly covered position!!! Considering other parts of the defence are weak then I would have thought it's essential the best players are being selected. If Strachan called up players from the likes of Rochdale or Fleetwood there would be discontent amongst the ranks yet it's a similar level to the spl. Laughable all these epl players are so easily dismissed.
resk
Wasn't Bardsley the chap who was setting fire to high denomination banknotes in casinos or some such merry jape? What a character. Shinnie for RB IMO. You're allowed right footed LBs, why not t'other way round?
