Do Celtic fans really care about Palestine?

Changed days.  Celtic played Real Madrid way back in 1962 to raise funds for the Jewish National Fund Charitable Trust.  These funds were to help Jewish refugee women from Europe and Africa to settle in .....er......Israel  / Palestine.  The match was set up by Celtic supporter, Max Benjamin.

The trophy that the organising committee presented to the winning team (Real Madrid) was the Blue and White Trophy !!!  Maybe Celtic didn't want to win it !

Just think.  The sons, daughters, and grandchildren helped by Celtic on that night, could be Jewish settlers in Palestine today.  Oh the irony of it all.

They should care about Palestine! We all should, so fair play to them..

I'm no Old Firm supporter but I was right behind Celtic.

Fucking shame on Rangers fans by waving Israel flags to counter Celtic. Disgrace.

Was this after Celtic fans waved Palestinian flags?  Is this on YouTube, or are there photos of Rangers fans with Israeli flags.  Haven't seen this anywhere.  As far a I'm aware Rangers fans are keeping well out of this.

Plastic Paddies vs Plastic Mac:

Celtic fans urge famous fan Sir Rod Stewart to boycott Israel and cancel Tel Aviv gig

I knew Rod Stewart before he was Scottish and Celtic before they became Irish.  Both are 1970s iterations of a tragic myth.

I don't claim to know how Celtic fans' minds operate but I'm pretty sure that Save the Children are doing more than Magners to deliver genuine practical help.

So if this is a "virtue signalling" competition they've got some catching up to do.

ETA Magners don't even make particular;y good Cider, so dealing with humanitarian disasters would almost certainly be too difficult for them anyway.

It's all part of their false identity of being some left wing partisan club . If Celtic fans were truly anti establishment and left wing as they make out to be they would actually detest everything Celtic as a club stand for and the way they operate . They are a multi million pound corporate club . The whole Palestine cause attitude can be summed up by looking back at the their champions league game against the Israeli opposition . The celebrated wildly to a goal scored by an Israeli for their team that night whilst hoisting their Palestine flags.

Worry about your own pathetic excuse for a club.

Bitton didn't even score so at least try to get your facts right.

Ah well he made an appearance and it still summed up the whole embrassing episode for the virtue signalling it really was  .

So only a select few can discuss ra selik . Not very inclusive is it?
