The East Kilbride FC Thread

Even if the planning permission had gone through it would have been a tough ask for the stadium to be ready at the start of the season. Personally I think 450 cap would be tight as surely more folk would want to see EK in their 1st season as an SPFL side if it happened.
Perhaps they could put a temp stand in? Is there space for such?

There is room for extra stands at other sides of groung. They have used temporary stands for some bigger games. The new stadium has been an issue for many years now. Has been ongoing for a while. Thats the longterm plan. Kpark would be used till new stadium is sorted. Biggest problem with kpark is there is not alot of room for parking or major excess traffic if capacity was increased.

If East Kilbride get promoted, is there a decent chance they could play in League 2 for several years in K Park, offering away fans 50/ 100 tickets for games? What allocation did Stenny get in the cup?

Clyde and their massive away support would not be happy with this.

I think under those circumstances they would look to increase the current capacity of K Park pending a new stadium.

If I remember correctly the Stenny match was just pay at the gate.

As for hosting League 2 sides such as Clyde, it won't be an issue holding the game at K Park. Clyde visited K Park 18 months ago for a pre season fixture and there was no issue with allocating their big travelling support.

Well done The New Saints on getting to 27 wins on the bounce.  Their run came to and end today with a 3-3 draw. No matter what level, that is something to be proud of.

They should do what EK did and just claim it as a victory.

Hello all, what are current attendances like at EKFC and is there an update on plans for the stadium?

Good luck with the remainder of the season and (presumably) in the playoffs - you certainly seem like a club who have the potential in the long-term to enhance the SPFL.

The current attendance is usually between 200-400 supporters. There isn't any update on the stadium as of yet.

Matchday 20 - Saturday 14th January - Dalbeattie Star (A)

Dalbeattie Star 0 - 3 East Kilbride FC

McNeil (2), Gibbons.

Had a nice trip down to Dalbeattie where the weather could've been described as mild to nice.  It was nice to be the first competetive fixture under Star's new floodlights and it was a keen contested match with chances for both teams although as the game wore on EK looked the team more likely to score.

The opener came in first half stoppage time (which is always a good time to score) and after the second I was confident EK would see it through.  Once again Gibbons was outstanding for The Kilby closely followed by Russell and Proctor.

McLean made his debut and was trying hard to make an impression.  He showed some nice touches and hopefully will prove to be a useful asset for the remainder of the season.
