Any idea how much the entry for tonight's match is? There's nothing on the Stenhousemuir or the Rangers website. No-one seems to give a solitary f**k about this game.

Its tomorrow!

Comfortably bodied off a team at the wrong end of League One. Lovely job Stenhouemuir, the TV companies will be fuming that they can't get an Old Firm U20s game.

Only the Celtic U20s to be knocked out and maybe we can all agree that sticking them in was a horrific idea in the first place.

Very pleased with that, not just because we got our first win of the season but because we put paid to the idea that these colt sides are a good addition to the Challenge Cup. Rangers didn't really offer anything and we ran out comfortable winners. They lacked the aggression, the technique and the know-how to get the better of us. Their touch was often wayward and their passing poor. Not one Rangers players stood out.

Get it up you, whoever's idea it was. I hope Celtic get knocked out in the next round. This is a perfectly adequate little competition and it doesn't need jazzing up like this, thank you.

As for Stenhousemuir, credit to them. They weren't up against the best of teams but they worked hard, pressed well and deserved the win. Everyone played well and I honestly can't single anyone out above anyone else. Fraser Kerr dominated any time the ball came near him. Vinnie Berry's tenacity was great to see. Kieran Millar snapped about all night. Alan Cook took his goal very well. Colin McMenamin showed the Rangers team how it's done.

It's important we use this as a platform for our league campaign - we play Livingston on Saturday and Airdrieonians the week after so there's a very chance we could emerge with nothing from the opening four games. Come on, Stenny! Make it happen!

TBF that describes a number of Rangers teams I've seen in the past. A bit depressing from their point of view if there's nothing coming out of the mighty conveyor belt of talent that is the Rangers development squad.

Well done Stenny - a blow for the good guys. Vinnie Berry is much missed at Hampden. You've won a watch with him.

Standing by for some idiot at the SPFL to point out that this proves we need more "colt" games against real times, to help them improve.

Maybe this will show that Rangers couldn't have played a youth team in the sfl leagues afterall.

Hopefully they scrap this daft idea for next season.

Good point, but the football authorities and Scottish media seem hellbent on getting Rangers and Celtic youths/B teams into the leagues (more teams if they could), so this will still be pushed, regardless of how well they actually compete when they are added.
