Coupar Angus were worth the points at Newburgh
Fairly even 1st half with Newburgh maybe just about shading it on chances created
2nd half Coupar were well worth the win
Very well organised - strong defensively and the guy that scored all 4 goals is an absolute whippet that our defence could not cope with.
For such a young team they are fairly streetwise and will test most teams in the league.

Blairgowrie 0 6 Thornton

pitch in excellent condition considering the weather that's been around. Don't know wats happend up at Blair but the hibs out the traps quick and no response from Blair. Was a pretty 1 sided game today and could have been a lot more. Blairgowrie need to bounce back after a few poor results

was really expecting the Blair v Thornton game to be on to be honest, but I'm glad it was, but I'm sure Blairgowrie would of wished the snow to lie a little bit longer.it was the game of the day in the north league, both teams trying for promotion, 9 goals in the last outing so it was looking to be a cracker, and we were not disappointed, well Thornton weren't.

Thornton started like a steam train scoring in the first 4 minutes with mcnab, as the game went on blair were hardly out there half, Thornton pressing for a second and it came on the 20th minute as Shaun Keatings doubled the Hibs lead, blair couldn't really get any foothold in the game with the two wingers Mcnab and keatings going past the blair fullbacks at will and the big boy Irelandup top throwing the blair centre halfs about like rag dolls I knew it was Thorntons day.

The third came three minutes later from a corner when Nicholas McGowan bulleted a header from a corner on the 24th minute, Thornton kept the pressure on and chance after chance was getting created, the bar an offside goal disallowed and there keeper was keeping the score down, until a great ball into the box and Ireland rose in between to defenders to header the ball into the blair net becoming 0-4 at half time and basically game over.

Two minutes of the second half had started and it was only a matter of time before the best player in the league was on the score sheet in my humble opinion, a another great cross into the box and bang Garry Thomson snr headed the ball into the right hand corner.it was only going to be a long 2nd half for blair, the blairs center was getting frustrated because he was only getting scraps from the rest of his team.

it was keep ball for the rest of the game until the 75th minute with shaun keatings hitting a thunder bolt into the top left station, and that was fitting giving it was shaun's engagement party that evening, so he would of had a smile like the joker out of batman the whole night. The game ended 0-6 and it really could of been a lot more, basically blairgowrie was given a footballing masterclass on I must say on an excellent surface and great pitch, hats off to blair for that, but the whole thornton team was just superb yesterday in front of there away strip sponsor  SM ELECTRICAL which was great to see him travel all the way up there, all the best to Blairgowrie for the rest of the season, watch out Coupar angus your next Thorntons coming to get you.

I've heard that Blairgowrie were being real mouthy and giving it all that down at memorial park earlier in the season and got there just deserts on Saturday and a real footballing lesson ! It's a long season and people don't forget when your behaviour is unsportsmanlike we all like to celebrate a win and enjoy the good times but there is always a line.

Coupar Angus 0-5 Kirrie Thistle

Another good win for Kirrie on what was a difficult surface to play on. Took a while to get in to the game as there was little chances between the sides in a scrappy opening half hour, but Kirrie took the lead on 36mins with a strike Darren Scott. Kirrie needed the goal to settle and started to play some good football but that was how the scoring stayed until HT. In to the 2nd half Kirrie were well in to there stride and you knew another goal was just round the corner. It came on 61 mins, Davie Miler crossing for Bryan Duell to tap home. 8 mins later substitute Kamil Kadela made an immediate impact by being played through on goal and cooly slotted home. Kirrie were relentless and 3 on 72 mins Davie Miller ran rings round the Coupar defence before curling past the keeper. Goal number 5 came on 76 mins, a corner being whipped in and Scott Drumm bulletng home the header. Another important 3 points and we move on to next week at home to East Craigie.
