They lobbied clubs to gain support to raise a motion to have 5 ( or 6) of the lowest placed and supported clubs removed from the league to enable more money to be allocated to the higher leagues. A lot of bribery and underhand deals were struck and it was only the battling determination and togetherness of the wee clubs which won through in the end. Legal judgements were passed at the time to ensure the same thing didn't happen again ............But here we have the same scenario developing it seems for much the same reasons.
