Herman Hessian
so - the loan deal for Moise Kean has been concluded with Juventus and, along with Korean Sensation Lee Seung-Woo, Hellas could now put out a striking partnership with a combined age of 36, whereas at one point it could conceivably have been Cassano and Pazzini, coming in at 68 - yay for the youth movement ! i probably have socks that are older than 36...
Busta Nut
I look forward to seeing Lee Seung-Woo, see is he's any good.
A-Mac
Really excited about the Mariusz Stępiński signing, think given his age he could be a terrific signing for us. Roberto Inglese move to Napoli for €12m is good business, especially with him coming back on loan for the season. Overall happy with the transfer window.
Kris.
Two wins from two as Parma win 1-0 at Novara. Caught the last half hour and they were absolutely shite. Had one half chance but spent the rest of the time time-wasting, sitting deep and playing for free-kicks (and by f**k were there a lot). Novara at the very least deserved a point based on what I seen. However, a win is a win, and they are one of only four sides to have a 100% record so far - Perugia, Frosinone and Carpi being the other three. Speaking of Perugia, they followed up their 5-1 win last week by beating Pescara 4-2. Of the other promoted sides, Cremonese got their first win, beating Avellino 3-1 and Venezia ended up with the same result as last week, a 0-0 draw. No wins and no goals so far, get it up them. killiefan27
I know Killie fans on here don't have the best form with open letters, but I loved this by Alessandro Lucarelli to Parma's former President: https://www.football-italia.net/109514/lucarelli-slams-ghirardi Quote “Dear President, Sunday will be a special game for you between the team of your city and the team you did a lot for,” Lucarelli, the captain who remained with Parma after their bankruptcy, wrote on Facebook. “It’s fine, because what fan wouldn’t want to see their club go bankrupt in the middle of the season? Which fan wouldn’t want to see their club overrun with debts and derided all over Italy? What fan wouldn’t want to see a good Serie D campaign and then move through the quicksand of the Lega Pro? “I’m just sorry you left, Mr President, because you could have boasted as you always liked to do when you said ‘Parma are competitive’. “You’re not like that though, you like to do good and then run away so you can leave everyone with good memories. “That’s why I’m officially inviting you to the game so we can thank you personally. “If I could just trouble you for one favour though… get there early, because there will be a lot of us. “At the front of the queue I’ll put the employees you left with no job, then the suppliers so you can confirm you’ve paid all your dues. "Next come the fans and the city you humiliated in front of the whole of Italy, and finally the players you left without a contract. “One last thing I’d ask you: if you have a spare seat in the car, could you bring along your friend from Rome [Pietro Leonardi]? Because I think it’s right we also recognise the goodness of his work. “Before you leave the stand though, try to pass in front of the bust that you’ll find in the atrium. Read the name well, it might even teach you something. “Don’t pass the museum though, because in 104 years of history - despite the good you did for us - there’s no place for you.”
lanky_ffc
Good article on how Serie A has become more attacking in the last couple of seasons. http://statsbomb.com/2017/09/serie-a-ttack/
Salvo Montalbano
I grew up watching the great A.C. Milan team of Baresi, Rijkaard, van Basten et al and I've been to see them play when Pirlo was there so it should be them, but most of my Italian friends support Juve and they play in the same kind of kits as the Pars so... I just like the country as a whole and the tactical nature of the league so I probably just want to see teams who play nice football do well. Apart from Lazio.

paul-r-cfc
So what teams do people on here like to follow.I know Kris likes Parma and everyone hates Juventus My family are all from Bari but the only one in Italy that we kept in real contact with was my aunt in Rome so Roma became my team.Only managed to see them once (1-1 V Barcelona 2 years ago) , having had to cancel a visit to a game V Reggina in 2008 as it clashed with our trip to Pompei. Also went to a Bari game in 2014 when I went out there to visit some estranged cousins and a senile great aunt. Obviously hate Juventus cos Juventus. Lazio cos Lazio and AC Milan because my socialist aunt's hatred of Berlusconi was infectious!

First three games: 5-1, 4-2 and a 3-3 tonight with Frosinone, after they had lead 3-0 at HT. Across their 5 games in league and cup this season, their matches are averaging 6 goals a game. Zeman is some boy.

Napoli - don't know why or when but it was definitely before they went bust and ended up in Serie C back in 2004...I think. I think it might have been back in 1998 that I started following them. Celano - Football Manager career, took them to Champions League glory twice in FM10 or FM11. They won 5-1 away at Mutignano last Saturday in case you wondered. Not bad for a team that only had 3 players about a month ago. I will make it out to a game one of these days. If I had to choose between the two, it would be Celano. I once signed Roberto Carlos for Napoli in FM and got sacked 3 days later. c***s.
Herman Hessian
seems curious to call a game off 24 before kick off because of the threat of bad weather - probably just unusal to have forward-thinking football authorities making these decisions for once, though, as opposed to the set of arseholes in charge in the UK; was certainly pissing down in Turin for Juve's stroll against Chievo - Dyballa looks every bit as good as Messi sometimes, such a great touch. Weather notwithstanding, awful lot of empty seats to be seen in a relatively small stadium - curva sud full enough too, so not down to some moody ultra protest...
Herman Hessian
oh - and as for the Hellas Verona affiliation - that goes back to the 1970's and the same Subbuteo set up that lead me to follow Meadowbank Thistle until their demise; I'd play out the (no doubt ultimately prescient) European Super League - with Doncaster Rovers facing off against all manner of fine ensembles, but not always the "proper" champions of various competing countries - representation tended to be decided more on whether or not I had a full team in a fairly accurate kit; my mate supported West Brom, for instance, so we had a blue and white striped team (1FC Magdeburg were therefore the East German side rather than Dynamo Dresden or Lokomotive Leipzig - along with Porto and Deportive La Coruna making the grade on the same basis) and the Baggies' green and yellow change kit meant that there was no place for Ajax or Feyenoord - it was Den Haag who were in from the Netherlands ! We were a bit stuffed when it came to Italy; I did have black and red stripes, but that was reserved for Andover (who my dad used to play for) so there was no room for AC Milan, and there was nothing close to Inter or Juve; Torino and/or Roma nearly made it due to a maroon kit with two white chest bands (Pembury Primary School - who I played for !) but - as luck would have it - I also had some Subbuteo rugby teams, one of which was obviously Doncaster; now, they played in blue shirts with a deep white and gold "v" on the front, and with the colours being shown to be correct as per the most recent copy of Rothmans or the NoW annual - whatever passed for the point of reference at the time - and the "v" easily being taken to stand for Verona (no google image search to check the veracity of such claims back then !) it was deemed that Hellas Verona would take part. They promptly pissed the league, finishing way ahead of Rovers, West Brom, Bastia (representing France as it sounded a bit like "båstard"), Glentoran (no idea how they were involved), AIK Stockholm (the All Black rugby team) and other luminaries of the game - and a life-long love was born ! Herman Hessian
excellent - found a live stream (without commentary) of Catania v Lecce - top qualtiy Serie C action ! Sicilians winning 1-0, and the Ghetto Catanese on the Curva Nord singing something based on Give It Up by K C & The Sunshine Band sloped off for quick spot of dinner, back to see Catania slot home their third without reply.... Allan Jacobsen
Serie C could still end up with 58 teams. Vibonese have been provisionally saved from relegation and placed back into Serie C/C subject to approval by Lega Pro. Seriously fucking odd.
