79' Rudiger comes on at rightback, having been out for months with ligament damage, pushing Florenzi forward from rightback to rightwing.

82' Florenzi is stretchered off the pitch in tears with suspected ligament damage

What is it with Roma players, particularly defenders, and long-term serious injuries??

EDIT:  may just be a painful sprain, given the way his knee buckled and he left the pitch that would be a pleasant surprise.

Nope, unfortunately he's done his anterior (?) ligament and is undergoing surgery today. Likely to be a mid to long term lay off

Aye, read that this morning, gutted for him :(

Bruno Peres is due back from injury in the very near future and may now get a run in his favoured position of RB (rather than shoe-horned into LB) which is a silver lining.
If Bruno Peres recovery is delayed, then Rudiger could take his place at RB, which is ok.
But Rudiger at RB also means Fazio has to continue in the middle, which isn't great given Fazio's lack of pace and the way Roma play (very open).

At leftback Emerson has been improving, JJ is hit and miss, and Rui is out until next Spring minimum.
So Rudiger or Peres may also find themselves out of position at LB, with Fazio in the middle... which would be disappointing.
Vermaelen may be on his way back to Barcelona already given his injury problems.

With Florenzi no longer an option in midfield/up front, it may see Totti get more game-time, but Perotti is due back from injury in the next week or so, so probably not...

I'm just rambling, basically Roma's defence do not need yet another disruption, and the squad doesn't need yet another serious injury.

This is a nice wee article on Florenzi:

Napoli deserved a point IMO, played really well considering they had no out and out striker on the park. Huge bit of luck involved with each Juve goal (albeit excellent finishes in the end), but the Napoli goal was excellent. Taking off Insigne was mental from Sarri though, Giaccherini is pish.

The Napoli v Lazio game was decent for a 1-1, with both goals scored within 90 seconds of each other. Napoli had plenty of the ball and Hamsik was excellent but they miss a striker. It's a shame Milik got injured. Are there no late games tonight? I see BT are showing a game now, one at 2ish then one at 5 but is there a 7.45 game as normal too? If there is that's the lot of Serie A for one day.
