Beat 2-1 by rob roy toinight, now we can focus on the serious league business. Tough opening game away to Irvine Meadow to come on Saturday.

Notice Johnny Allan has not being playing much in pre season/slc is he injured again?

Kept most of the squad from last year and added some good looking signings. Hard to see us finishing outside the top 3.

Allan is still injured at the moment - can't see him bring available anytime soon. Hopefully Phil Barclay should be injury free soon with Andy Biddulph also on the road back.

Hopefully we can go further than last season and get into the top 2 - need to try and make sure that we finish off teams and take our chances when they arise - cautiously optimistic for the league campaign

If you say so, wasn't at the game so only have your view that we were outplayed. In my opinion games in  this competition are glorified friendlies, trialists getting run out's, managers experimenting with formations, the bookies don't even price up matches should tell you something.

Would much rather be playing league games from the start of August like they do in the East region.

Good luck to rob roy in the next round anyway.

Rab's were better in 1st half sure but it was fairly even in 2nd and given were a 2nd half team then that's our whole game.  Dreadful penalty decision and awful defending for winner ... I'd not be taking too much out the game of it was a Rabs fan but best of luck to them anyroad.

Obviously not at the game tonight little quality on show from Clydebank got outplayed.

Guess its only a District cup eh

outplayed how? Thought both teams were poor and both showed small signs of playing football. The boy duff is a good player. I wonder who Jim Chapman and Andy millen where watching tonight?

Mon the papers

Message from Meadows Vice Chairman ahead of Saturdays game. You are very welcome in our Social Club to get a drink but no carry outs folks :) Enjoy the game and the programme hopefully! Lol [emoji106]

"The start of the League Season and a home fixture against one of the title favourites Clydebank which should be a useful barometer of our progress over the summer.

Clydebank have a big noisy travelling support who will no doubt be there in numbers this being the first game of the season. They also have a good reputation for their behaviour and we don't anticipate any trouble at the game.

However, after last Friday's game we have considered our stewarding of busy fixtures. The Police will be in the vicinity and Stewards will be in place at the turnstiles to ensure that no carry outs are taken into the ground. Please do not attempt to take alcohol into the Ground as you will be refused admission. We will continue to liaise with the Police to ensure that Meadow Park is a safe place to play and watch football.

Let's all enjoy the fixture in safety and from behind the barriers, no one is allowed on the pitch other than Players and Officials, this includes children at half-time. If any of them want to kick a ball about they can use the training ground.

Thanks in advance for your co-operation"

We were a struggle to watch at times yesterday, Joel missed two good chances one on one with the keeper if one of them went in it could have been a different game. Meadow tried to play it out from the back, don't think they will struggle as bad as some have suggested.

Didn't get a good view of the penalty as  was standing too far away. Bubba broke away and scored the winner, was well onside and the big centre back got a straight red for something he must have said to the linesman.

3 points in the bag and move on to next week.
