Yes we do - https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/aberdeen-fc-chairman-confirms-planned-new-stadium-include-standing-area1/

I see Man Utd are looking into the idea and the BBC have a HYS section - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38411627

A couple of users are very anti-standing but their arguments are laughable to say the least.

But, but Hillsborough! Overcrowding! Health and safety!

Considering that Liverpool fans and writers have been up to Glasgow to check it out and have given it a glowing endorsement (see link) I think that people are realizing that these safe standing areas are light years ahead of the old terraces in terms of safety.  Check the link for a good read from a Liverpool fan perspective

Old terraces could have been perfectly safe as well. They just didn't give a f**k about the safety or comfort of folk standing on them like they do these days. Nowadays you would never get away with packing in far too many, insufficient exits, locking people in pens etc. which is obviously progress.

I realise traditional terraces will never come back, as the authorites have perpetuated this myth that they were unsafe, so yes safe standing it is and it would be great if every home and away section in every ground in Scotland introduced some, but sadly the expense means it is unlikely to appear outwith the bigger clubs.

Traditional terraces could quite easily come back. Plenty of clubs in England who have built new grounds have them (admittedly in the lower leagues).

As Paulo (correctly) states, there is nothing unsafe about terracing.

Exactly. Safe standing as it's presented now is just a different kind of seat.

'Safe' standing is a con. It seems to me to just be a big money making exercise. The folk who design and install it must have some sort of financial dodgy deal with football authorities.

Installation-wise, it costs £80 per safe standing seat compared to £40 for a regular seat.

I'm not going to read that. I can just imagine the Liverpool Celtic love in. I don't think I wouldn't be able to keep my breakfast down.
