This is normal , fact is tho club sitting in reasonable position in league we are out the Scottish cup at a very early stage to Kilwinning who sit bottom of their table and performances in league didnt match the expectations of club or management team. We gave Peter and Ryan the job in the best interests of the club and this agreement to part company is also done in best interest of club. A Lot of good players were let go at beginning of season by new management team to accommodate new signings which unfortunately haven't worked out , that's football. It's been an expensive lesson for committee and club. Several players signed this season will be released . Players being released will be on agreement we don't have to pay them week and a half expenses owed. This will allow them to go and get new deals, signing on fees at other clubs. The large majority of players will remain at club and be added to to hopefully safeguard position in league and build for next season. May we again take this opportunity to wish Peter and Ryan the best for the future.

Which new signings haven't worked out? I know a few boys who play for other teams in the league and they thought Shettleston could've went on and won the league... We could have but so could several other clubs. We could also have won the league with the squad we let go who didn't cost anywhere near this one. Fact is the performances didn't match the ambition. We sneaked a draw at home on Saturday with a last gasp own goal against meadow. When we last played meadow in this fixture we won 4 0. standard of junior football I feel has been underestimated by some players and coaches. People looking at league table say we are doing well. We work hard as a committee like many other clubs we gave these guys an opportunity which hasn't worked out so we cut our losses for same reason we took a punt on these guys for the good of the club. A "reasonable position" in the league ? 2nd place with only one defeat and a game in hand to go joint top if you win it ? "out the Scottish cup at a very early stage to Kilwinning who sit bottom of their table" - but who are still in the league above you. "performances in league didnt match the expectations of club or management team" - top of the league expected, and nothing worse ? High expectations indeed. Fact is we didn't just lose to Kilwinning we were embarrassed! We have already spent more this season than we have for any other complete season. Yes we have one defeat but we have four draws and have to play 5 of the top 6 away from home in coming weeks and we have not been playing well considering what we have paid out. If we did get promotion what do we do then find another load of money to try stay up because the Kilwinning result proves we wouldn't be good enough. We have seen teams suffer from this kind of short term fix over the years. We tried it other clubs be warned it rarely if ever works.

Fair enough, it looks like a lot of thought has gone into the decision, and it's not a knee jerk reaction.

dt17
Again it seems odd considering they drew with KRR at the start of the season and beat Arthurlie in another cup. Surely the wages were agreed at the start of the season, therefore to get to the half way stage and all of a sudden not afford them - bizarre?
