debian
Was told at the weekend Duns may not be participating in this cup? Can anyone confirm? _____________ I've read their website, and see they won't. Shame, I was looking forward to a trip.

debian
I take it the draw still stands and we are straight in to the 3rd Round? Nosebleed territory.
HibeeJibee
I imagine that is what will happen. Last season Kelso folded... Vale of Leithen and Tynecastle met in R1 (played on R2 day) with winner going direct to R3.

HibeeJibee
No surprise results today - as every LL side won through, EK prevailed by odd goal at CSS and LTHV comfortably dispatched Ormiston. Match of the Day
Star Wigtown should be good but if star play to their best they should be just to strong for them but we will see, it could go either way
HibeeJibee
Dalbeattie v Wigtown looks the most interesting of the inter-league ties - plus Preston v LTHV in terms of a possible lower-level shock. It will be interesting to see how the Annandales get on. University derby always has a bit of spice - and I notice they play in LL the week before. Indeed Edinburgh Uni's next 4 games are:Sat 25 Sep - Whitehill (H) - Scottish Cup Sat 01 Oct - Whitehill (H) Tue 04 Oct - East Kilbride (H) Sat 08 Oct - Stirling Uni (A) Sat 15 Oct - Stirling Uni (A) - South Challenge Cup so a "familiar" month for them. Glasgow Uni v Dumfries YMCA gives an unfancied minnow an opportunity to reach the Last 16.

tamthebam
I've seen Wigtown this season- they play some nice neat football and have a couple of decent young laddies. While I haven't seen Dalbeattie I would back them to win the tie. But what do I know...!
HibeeJibee
R2 got underway last night with 2 eye-watering results. Glasgow University blew Dumfries YMCA away 9-0 at Airdrie, while Edusport thrashed Lochmaben 7-1 at Lockerbie.

Bundesliga Boy
Such a great competition with teams from across the leagues. Took in the Preston v Lothian THV game today - very lacklustre performance from Hutchie Vale, and infact were pretty dire in the second half. Back to the competition at large though and the bigger Lowland teams like East Kilbride, Spartans, East Sirlingshire, Cumbernauld and reigning champions Whitehill Welfare will all fancy their chances. Plus big non-Lowland clubs like Leith Ath, Lothian THV and even Wigtown & Bladnoch will be out to prove they can win it as an outsider, if they can even be referred to as that. Anyone know when the draw is?

Re your previous post, yeah an away tie at Abbey Vale would be good as its different, and winnable, although they got a great result today at home to BSC. From memory its a quaint wee place in the middle of nowhere with the ground being at the back of a primary school. You'll end up with an away tie at EK now!!! :-P
