I'm always pretty surprised at this suggestion, that there is a fund of young talent that is not being used by clubs. Given the dearth of talent in our league(s) why on Earth would managers leave them rotting in the stiffs?

Because they're inexperienced and managers aren't being given time to allow kids to get used to playing in first team.

probably a lot to do with fans who get on managers backs constantly and who want ball played/lumped forward. Then go home and slaughter them on here and even that's after slaughtering them on twitter.

Not directly co-efficient related but going by Traki progressing and Progres getting papped out you have to say Rangers have been the poorest performers of our European participants :angel

That was confirmed about 75mins into the 2nd leg in Luxembourg,

Nothing could surpass that shambles.

I disagree. I think youth gets a pretty fair shake at most of the clubs. The exOF maybe do it via loans but, still...have a look at the current U21 squad and game numbers for example.

Being in an U21 squad and having 5 or 10 games isn't good enough. These boys should have 30 or 40 games under their belts.

We could be heading for our worst coefficient season’s total since 2011/12

Who represented us in 2011/12? What was it happened *twice* in 2011/12?

Rangers in the CL - Lost to Malmo in QR3
Rangers in the EL - Lost 3-2 to Maribor in Play-off
United in EL - Lost in QR2 to Slask Wrowclaw on Away Goals
Hearts in EL - Beat Paks of Hungary, before losing 5-0 to Spurs in Play-off Round
Celtic in EL - Lost to Sion - before getting a reprieve 6-0 Aggregate win in Play-off Round for an ineligible player, then finished 3rd in Group with Atletico Madrid, Udinese and Rennes.

It's something to do with distribution of finances, as mentioned in the forum and bottom of that page - only UEFA knows for sure.

With Aberdeen out it's all on Celtic to try and match last year's 17.5 country points (4.375 average). Only on 7 just now, but replicating last year's results with a win/draw against Astana and three CL group stage draws would put us on 15.5 (3.875). Wouldn't be too bad given Rangers/St Johnstone's early exits, plus Celtic could maybe get a win or two for more points and make it into the EL.

19 countries out of Europe so far,the Celtic games against astana are massive for the co-efficient could jump up 3 or 4 places

Even after the loss yesterday afternoon the bonus points for making the Champions league proper have caused a big jump in the table as it stands and we are now 7th in the this seasons points table

http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method5/ccoef2018.html

It could have been so much better and its hard to get many or any points from now on but its certainly not the doom and gloom of late June/early July.

I don't see us finishing higher than 22nd this season, which wouldn't be bad. Our cup winner would be guaranteed entry into the 2nd round of EL qualifying.

Also, if Celtic manage a draw in the group stage then we've mitigated the points we'll lose from the 13/14 season.
