Leafa 16/17 prem 1 & 2

At the last council meeting leafa asked the teams if five divisions of 12 would be ok, none of the teams commented.

Premier
Championship
East West
Central.

Wouldn't be any relegation as such but the bottom sides from the current edinburgh east and edinburgh west leagues would combine in the lowest "central" league

Mark took over from Gordon Rollo in late October and is in charge at present.
The club seem to have had their ups and downs on the park this season having punched above their weight last season.
Should, still on their day be capable of more than holding their own against anyone in the current Premier 1.
Big changes this summer I suspect.

East Linton won 3-2. Lost 2 goals in the first 7mins. Got one back after 15 mins, level at half time, got the winner with about 15 mins to go. If they got organised they could have got a few more during the 2nd half but a mix of poor finishing and general muppetry, getting in each others road and other comic stuff cost them a few goals. Onward to next week.

Seen broomhouse twice this season at they're own park and it was adult had to be the most embarrassing sideline ever.

im all for managers, committee members etc getting involved etc but any decision against them their whole sideline was on the pitch.embatassing.good team though

Well there you go, after a 4-0 defeat from Danderhall in the league on Monday evening, some pitiful refereeing by the way, to a 2-1 win in the challenge cup semi final against the same opposition, who says football is predictable, well done to East Linton, looking forward to the final next week.

Looking at the recent results that Craigshill Thistle have posted, they must be favourites to win the final next week. Gubbed both Sandys and Tollcross on the way to the final and sitting top of the league with games in hand, hope both teams play to their capabilities, should be good.

Last nights win for East Linton makes you wonder why there guys aren't near the select squad. Whether through their own choice or by being selected.
Thoroughly deserved the win last night against a team full of select players who looked tired and just simply played from back to front all evening. And pretty aimlessly the majority of the time.
They have been successful, however, so assume that just wasn't a good night for them.
Enjoyable game to watch.
East Linton definately the better players and team on the night.

1 Player doesn't want to play for the select team, he has been asked so many times, but he doesn't fancy it, that is completely up to him

1 other player was asked to play in a game but he was unable to make it due to work commitments, fair enough

and 2 other have been mentioned and will be watched again as both times they have missed their own game when we came down.

made it down to the Craigshill V East Linton cup final last night.  Cracking cup final, made even better by the top gent who gave me a bottle of beer in the 'Stand'

anyway, game had everything.  Missed sitters, penalties, rammies, red cards and a 3 minute hatrick.  Top final.

As for my opinion on the game, The big east linton boy missed twice when clean through in the first 20 that would have made the game much better, but after that it was pretty much all Craigshill.  East linton battled way aggressively but Craigshill always seemed to just have the edge.  Both penalties for Craigshill were stonewallers although I was confused as to why the east linton goalie never got sent off.  Someone else in the stand went on about rule changes and the last man thingy not being a red if its a penalty or some such stuff?

Last ten got a bit tasty as after East linton scored to make it 3-1 there was that silly nonsense about getting the ball back out of the goal that the players always seem to get het up about. This resulted in the monster East linton sub smacking the Craigshill goalie and getting sent off along with a wee craigshill daftie that started it all!

Unfortunately East linton then decided that defending was overrated and the Craigshill striker scored 3 goals in 3 minutes all from long punts over the top.

No way was 6-1 a fair scoreline, but the best team won.

Wish all games were as much fun as this one!

Got to last nights final too, Craigshill were the better team their wee left winger was the best player on the pitch. If the ref had finished the game at 3-1 I think that would have been a fair reflection on the game, but 6-1 not fair on East Linton, Craigshill will be a great addition to the premier league next season and from the rumour mill saying there will be big changes at East Linton too. Roll on next season.

I also made it along to Paties Road on Friday evening.
East Linton more than held their own and as mentioned above, the result was nowhere near a reflection on the game.
East Linton definately edged the first 65mins or so and deserved to be level at the very minimum up until this point.
Again, as said above they had 3 great chances when the game was scoreless. And as we know, goals change games.
Craigshill very direct in their play but evidently have individuals going forward who excel at this level.
East Linton definately played the better football of the two on a pretty poor surface.
The last 20 mins or so we're pretty crazy.
To imply that East Linton were overly aggressive, say their keeper should have been sent off and say the sub smacked any1 shows a complete lack of knowledge for the game and what actually happened.
East Linton can definately hold their heads high on an impressive performance for a large part of the game.
At 3-1 and down to 10 men, they had 2 go for it, getting hit on the break was always gonna b likely.
Congratulations to Craigshill, without doubt the best team in the association.
Wide players Swan and Martin particularly impressive.
