Camelon have the desire to put an astro downwind working with another club would be a win/win for both clubs. However if they are not careful I fear there may not be a club to support if they don’t act soon. Camelon Juniors would be an obvious Shire venue, especially if they are seeking a partner club for Carmuirs Park, but surely this should have been considered before ?
selfassemblyshire
Not much we can do about being at Ochilview when fellow clubs and members of the LL dont support you.
selfassemblyshire
From what I'm lead to believe, a return to Firs Park is also something the club are not interested in.

luggy
The Shire don’t own firs park Alan Mackin does so that’s dead in the water, the lowland league approved 3 teams playing out of the council tax stadium and the lowland league clubs voted against it so at present stenny is the only option.

Shire have 6 options - Ochilview Camelon - is it acceptable for LL football and would require work if they got promoted and the pitch sucks. Dunipace - is it acceptable for LL football and would require work if they got promoted and the pitch sucks. However they have submitted plans to upgrade the stadium. Falkirk Stadium - seems LL clubs don't want it. Grangemouth - see Camelon and Dunipace, plus it has a running track round it and Athletic meets take priority. Firs Park - wouldn't and shouldn't give Mackin a penny. The problem is they appear to currently be at their best option unless a sugar daddy comes in and offers to fund ground improvements.

Drs stirling uni play at falkirk stadium so don't see how you say the lowland league are against it. Carmuirs and Westfield are going to potentially be upgraded with astro pithese. Grounds are no worse than others. Grangemouth stadium again probably as good as a lot of Lowland league grounds. Ochilview is ok at the moment probably is the best option. Firs Park as you say don't give Mackin a penny

Firs Park as you say don't give Mackin a penny The issue with Falkirk Stadium is probably that there would be three teams playing league and cup games there, plus Falkirk's youth teams, plus the occasional Scotland u20s/women's team international, plus the gigs they have there - it would require a lot of moving around and hosting games on Friday nights and Sundays, and cause issues around fixture congestion, which is probably why the clubs were against it. It would be my preferred option but I can't see it happening atm. (Well, my actual preference is having our own ground, obviously, but unless the club have an eccentric billionaire fan somewhere who's included the Shire in his will, then that probably won't happen). Going back with Mackin would be a disaster for a number of reasons, not least because the numbers wouldn't add up. He'd have to spend a fair chuck of money to rebuild Firs Park, and the amount of rent he'd be getting from us presumably wouldn't come close to repaying that for a good wee while. Plus - he can get to f**k. Edited November 16, 2017 by AlansHotBath
drs
...and as mentioned up thread in the last week (Luggy on Sunday), The Shire were looking to move to Falkirk Stadium and had come to an agreement with the appropriate authorities but the teams in the LL voted against it.

My understanding was that the proposal included playing games at 5.30 pm on Saturday’s following on from a 2pm/3pm kick off for the previous team (Falkirk/Stirling Uni). I can see the borders teams objecting to that.

When do Stirling Uni have a deal until? Do them and Falkirk have a tie up over training facilities and development too? Maybe once BSC manufacture a move to Glasgow the uni could go to Alloa leaving East Stirling to share with Falkirk
AlansHotBath
Why don't Stirling Uni play at Forthbank? They have played there in the past if I'm right in thinking.

Yes but you areally making out that the problem is the stadium it' because amount of teams there. If stirling uni decided to return to stirling that would free it up
