I still feel like our slow start has given us too much to do in the final few weeks, and I not hugely confident about taking 6 points off Spartans, but it's fantastic this run has taken us from the season being all but finished in October to the outskirts of the title race. Even if we can't win the league if we can keep up this momentum into the very end of the season there's always the LL Cup

Given they only have 8 league games left, it would be quite a feat to take 28pts from them in any case !

In terms of maximum points totals the figures are East Kilbride 74pts... BSC Glasgow 73pts... East Stirlingshire 70pts... Spartans 77pts. However there are still several head-to-heads left - East Stirlingshire v Spartans on an undetermined date; BSCG-EK on Friday 6th April; and Spartans v East Stirlingshire on Saturday 14th April. If, for sake of argument, East Stirlingshire won all their remaining games they would be on 70pts; Spartans could reach 71pts; if EK+BSCG drew they could reach 72pts+71pts respectively; so very tight.

"Run-ins" for the contenders:

East Kilb       BSC Glasgow       East Stir        Spartans

Early in the season BSCG and East Kilbride reversed their league games, playing at K-Park in August with the return in April switched to Recreation Park. One interesting consequence is that EK now finish with 5 away games (including postponed game at Whitehill) and BSCG finish with 3-4 homes from 5-6 (including postponed game v CSS) that couldn't have occurred otherwise.

Have East Stirlingshire won any cups in the LL yet?

As noted they haven't won a cup since the relegation. They haven't joined the EOS Qualifying Cup which leaves them with the South Challenge Cup and Lowland League Cup. Last season they lost to Cumbernauld in SCC Semi-Finals (home tie but played at Falkirk) and at Spartans in LLC R2. This season they lost at BSCG in SCC R3 leaving them with end-of-season LLC still to come.

Its maybe a good thing in a way that they are not members of the EOSFA and don't have the distraction of too many cups and can concentrate on the league unlike their 3 rivals for the title. One way of looking at it anyway/
