Id disagree, it's a very generous amount and to call it low is a bit kuntish.

Windass was bought for around £60k, Tav for around £200k etc from a more expensive transfer market, so we've been more than generous here.

Probably best to look elsewhere now.

Bennett a players transfer value is dependent on various factors, age, length of contract any compo for development , windlass had 6 months left on his contract and signed a PCA, not too sure about Tav but to value by comparison is not how it works.

Those rules only refer to loans between Scottish league system sides - there aren't restrictions on loans from England or any foreign clubs.

I read the rules again and you are indeed correct, FoD.  I hadn't spotted the mention of 'Scottish Registered'.

Still, imagine the embarrassment of fielding a getting-on-for-full side of loanees.   If you went on to win the league, would you really have the brass neck to claim credit?

Bid low, hope the player asks for a move. It's what they do.

Pretty much. Seems the new club has the same strategy as the old club.

I think teams and players in Scotland have sussed them now though. Most players seem to realise they have potential to earn more with a move to the Championship in England while the clubs realise that given Rangers low-ball offers and Kays catalogue repayment plans even League 1 clubs will match those sort of numbers and if there's a sell on % included then there's far more chance of making decent money from that than there is if they're selling to Rangers. Selling to Rangers isn't really that appealing these days, even if you overlook their poor credit rating.

The upshot is that the only players who are likely to actively agitate for a move these days are the staunch ones. Most others are more than likely going to see the next step of their career in England and see that as an achievable aspiration. Additionally, most realise that they can get a move that will set them up simply by moving directly from a St Johnstone, Killie, Thistle, County, Motherwell etc and go straight to England.

All that actually means the loan moves they're going for make a lot of sense. You've got a bunch of decent players who aren't getting a game at their respective clubs, who are upgrades on what they've got, will keep them competitive and all they're having to do is cover wages for players that they couldn't otherwise afford until next year's season ticket money comes in.

Generous. Lol.

You’re trying to nick their most promising talent in the January window when he will be very difficult to replace.

There’s nothing ‘generous’ about it. It’s a transfer market, you pay the amount that convinces killie to let him go.

Does Cummings joining on loan mean Rangers have missed out on their primary target Steven Naismith?

To be fair to sevco I haven't seen anything which would suggest Naismith was even being considered, it was more a case of Naismith hooring his services for free in the press.

Don't think we've been interested in him in this window, we don't need an unfit injury prone player.

The English leagues demand higher transfer fees than ours tho, our offer to Kilmarnock was more than fair but they obviously don't want to lose one of their better players. So we move on.

In the same manner that you's weren't really interested in McInnes? "Move on" to what? Someone else you's aren't really interested in?

So a player playing league two football with Accrington Stanley with 6 months left on a contract he has no intention of extending is comparable to a guy plying his trade in our top league and also a full internationalist? Jesus f**k were you born thick or have you worked to master the art of stupidity ?

Offered £150 000 up front and wanted the rest paid up with add ons by all accounts.

Cheeky b*****ds!

The joys of signing players from Scottish teams.

Wish we would stop dealing with diddy Scottish teams. They clearly can't handle transfers in a professional and discrete manner. Aside from that, it's mostly overpriced shite on offer. Will some diddy player from Hamilton or Killie really improve us? Doubtful. It's sickening to see Rangers fans money going towards keeping these tin-pot outfits afloat.

The staunchest players will eventually find their way to Ibrox for no fee, assuming they are good enough.
