KRR went about their business in a good manner. The first half was pretty even. KRR forced their way forward in the second half against a Camelon side who have played four games in six days. Our team appeared tired. KRR play in the same style as Bonnyrigg in our league and we didn't close them down

Dundonald Bluebell 1 Camelon 0

Camelon opened their East Superleague season with a defeat to the leagues Newbies Dundonald. Fans were treated to an amazing sight pre-game as the Mariners had an incredible 20 players stripped for the warm-up, after the travails of the second half of last season it was nice to see and lets hope there is plenty of competition for places going forward.

First half was forgettable with neither keeper really tested but Camelon having the better of the possession and having more chances, even if about 10 of them seemed to be efforts from Deans from outside the box.

Second half started with Dundonald now on top and they made the advantage count in the 62nd minute when a cross into the box was headed home. Camelon huffed and puffed to break down a stuffy home side who were content to hit on the break and whilst Mariners fans got excited as the ball was prodded into the home net the linesman had his flag up for offside well before the final ball. Aside from that Bluebell looked comfortable and the best chance Camelon had was right at the end of the game as a stramash in the box saw the ball deflected narrowly behind.

Not the best way to start a season with a poor performance in the second half but the first half looked a lot better and with 5 new players in the starting XI maybe it will take a couple of games for this team to get on each others wavelength. No need to panic.

Camelon - Kane, Scott, Devlin, Morrison, Bell, Benton, Donaldson, Deans, Herd, Sneddon, O'Brien

subs - Walton(???or someone else), Allison, Fullerton

Onwards and upwards - 87 points to play for, the league is the still in the Mariners hands.
