AllyMonc
Tremendous first half today (apart from Walker's decision to pass when through on goal). Did well to cope with Annan's fast start to the second and nick a goal but deary me we made it hard for ourselves in the end. Best I’ve seen Laird all season, hope big Jesus’ injury isn’t too bad as he was really good today. Blues looks a lovely little player, him Laird and Walker is a really good midfield 3.Should really be pushing on from here and getting ourselves safe.
tamthebam
I heard NIMBYs are complaining about student flats being build on the Meadowbank site. This from an area not a stone's throw from Lochend... at least students can spell correctly when they graffiti your tenement!

The bit in the statement about the changing rooms is like its going back to what it was like when Meadowbank Thistle came into the league in 1974, they had loads of complaints about it from other clubs and eventually built the dressing rooms which were later used by City.
AllyMonc
Very disappointed but not surprised at the Meadowbank news. Initially I thought the club should try and engage the council and try to get them to amend the decision but Edinburgh City seem so far from the council's mind with this development that I don’t think there’s any point. I hope the club has some contingencies and let’s push on with those to see if any are practical and if any will support City going where they want to go.

The council seem more interested in the athletics, although I suppose that's what the place was built for originally. At the same time they must have given up at ever hosting big meetings in the city given the new capacity, its more of an athletics training ground than a stadium. EC and football do seem very far from their thoughts in the construction of the new Meadowbank. Hard to say where EC could go your at the only ready made football ground where you can play at the moment although would Spartans really want you there full time? Would the new rebuilt Edinburgh Accies ground down Stockbridge be an option when the works done there sure someone mentioned it on here in the past?
