Tartan Predictions of Doom

Paterson will need to get a game to be a scapegoat mate and with Strachan loving Hutton so much there is very little chance of Paterson seeing much competitive action, in fact I would put my house on Hutton, barring injury or suspension, playing every minute of every game he is available for.

If we are out of contention after two or three games, I think we would be better losing all our remaining games on purpose to end up in a playoff against San Marino and Andorra for a place at the following European Championship under the ludicrous new system.

The next scapegoat was the question. Hutton is currently it.

Which date will Strachan get the sack/resign?

When will we lose a game in the next qualifying campaign?

When will we be out of contention for qualification in the coming campaign?

Who will the Scotland faithful put forward as the next great white (or black, I'm not a racialist!) hope as manager?

Which player will be the Tartan Army's next scapegoat?

Not in a malicious 'boo! f**k off Strachan' way. Just to make it interesting. The winner gets a box of Quality Street.

1. He'll resign after the game in March when we draw 2-2 with Slovenia at Hampden.

2. 11th of October, away to Slovakia

3. After England hammer us at Wembley, which will be our 2nd defeat in 2 games

4. David Moyes

5. Charlie Mulgrew

Too many same old same old playing, we need to take the hit and build a team from scratch.. Darren Fletcher, Steven Fletcher, Charlie Mulgrew etc etc etc just not good enough at any level.

So let's replace them with worse players, I assume?

I'm no Strachan fan, but with one or two exceptions the players he has picked have been the best one.

I would have thought the idea was to start with a young team, write-off a campaign or two, then qualify with these now time-served international quality players. Other countries occasionally take this approach, so it might work.

The last one to try this approach was wee Bertie. We just became horrible to watch and a laughing stock to boot.

Thinking about it, maybe McLeish got the benefit of that strategy.

Mcleish had a pretty ropey group of players to pick from but got the best out if them. The current crop is undoubtedly better than likes of murty mcevely Pearson McCulloch Caldwell etc yet performing much more poorly

You've hand picked the worst of them there. He also had Gordon, McFadden, Ferguson and Fletcher thanks to Bertie. All of whom would walk into the current squad.
