How many missed penalties would you let one player take before telling him to step aside?

That depends on anyone actually stepping up and volunteering to take the next one.

Interesting first few posts, I suspect another poster (probably alias of a previous one) who loves a comment  but doesn't actually offer any constructive criticism or solutions.

Fair enough, we're all entitled to an opinion, but be interested to hear what you can do to improve things.

From Barry Ferguson's Daily Regards piece today (talking about Rangers obviously)

"On the road, that meant going long from the goalkeeper and playing in the opposition half. If you didn’t win the first ball, you sure as heck had better win the second - and only then did you earn the right to play.

It was not always pleasing on the eye, but more often than not we secured the wins on tight pitches on wet and windy nights in the middle of winter we needed to win league titles."

After the cup tie which will take care of its self the next 4 Saturday games are
Elgin away
Annan away
Forfar home
Arbroath away
That's the top four (at present ) on our present form I don't see many points coming our way from these games
Interspersed will be three mid week games
Berwick away
Montrose home
Cowdenbeath home
We really have to target at least two wins out of these
Hopefully we get some of the injured players back soon

Only played a couple of games due to being cup tied but looked good against Arbroath. Plenty of energy and decent delivery. Pleased he did let him leave!

Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website this afternoon and was enthusiastic about the challenge that the match offers:-

"Ayr are two leagues above us, a Championship team with a lot of good players, so we know that they are the big favourites. We'll give a good account of ourselves though, I'm sure of that.

"We've had them watched and we have a way that we want to approach the match, which we have already discussed as a group."

Let me guess now, back four to bypass midfield by continuously shelling the ball up in the hope of finding Peaso, with 80% being dealt with by Ayr and 20% catching Gormley offside, by any chance?

Surely not.

If Higgins starts then whatever game plan we had is out the window
