Just read the blade artist which follows begbie post porno. Not as good as trainspotting or porno but still worth a read. Hoping t2 will have juice terry in it tho. Top boi. throbber Posted November 8, 2016 Share Posted November 8, 2016 I was watching an interview with Danny Boyle saying how protective the cast were over the original and how they would never have considered it unless they were certain it could live up to the original so I don't think anyone should worry about it. There was talk about the sequel being made in 2006 which never got going for those reasons.You can't keep everyone happy with a sequel and many are going to judge it on its similarity to the original and to the book. It's not a straight lift from Porno - based on it but like The Blade Artist in brings the characters all straight into the present day. It's not exactly heavyweight or groundbreaking but I enjoyed it and was right behind Begbie when he got his mojo back and started straightening out a few matters you thought he might let slide. RUSTY1111 Posted November 24, 2016 Share Posted November 24, 2016 Skag Boys was a great book & I read Trainspotting way before it became trendy to do so, Porno was okay but massively far-fetched. Only problem with Irvine Welsh is his books are hard going at times due to the way the narrative is written. I got the three books last year and started reading Skag Boys and sort of stopped due to the narrative (Edinburgh-based) but will try and go back and start again.
