Just on the mention of cinemas - I was at the Odeon in Dunfermline the other week and it's embarrassing how much it shite all over the Dundee one, the DCA and the joke that is Cineworld in terms of facilities, seats, ambience, staff and cleanliness. The only thing I didn't like was that instead of turning the lights off for the film they just dimmed them which meant it was still quite bright when the film was playing.

I think this film has actually managed to make Silk by Wolf Alice my favourite all time song. Funny how films can do that.

I thought it was amazing. So poignant, so funny. It doesn't try to be anything like the first film, but looks back on it in a nostalgic, sad yet joyful and affectionate way.

Going to go see it again.

It would have been nice if there was some sneaky reference to Hibs and the Scottish cup at some point, didn't even need to be in the dialogue it could have just been a wee snippet on the tv or some banner/flag in the background.

I am sure there is a cup final commemorative T-Shirt in Begbie's cell and pictures of the win.

I very rarely go to the cinema these days and seeing this reminded me why. Loud people everywhere, folk unable to stop talking throughout a film, sticky seats, overpriced food and kids to trip up over everywhere. I'm usually a Cameo filmgoer to avoid some of the above problems but found myself in Cineworld for the first time in about five years.

Still, the film was fantastic.

I've never had a bad experience at the Cineworld at Fountain Park. Always find the audiences really respectful, the cinemas clean and not stinking of puke/piss. Suppose it could be different if going to see some real riff-raff film!

Firstly, I really enjoyed it, great film and a fantastic way to spend your evening watching it.

The updated 'choose life' monologue I thought was fantastic and offered a perfect social commentary on modern day society. The themes of ageing and all that comes with it were very poignant to me and I'm sure many others.

The acting all round was 1st rate but the show was stolen by Bremmer and Carlyle who managed to get to develop another emotional layer to their characters.

However, if I'm being hypercricital, I don't think the film ever really grabbed me in the way the 1st one did. I felt the script was slightly flimsy in parts and certain topics felt rushed to me for example the stuff with Begbies father.

It was always going to be a tough act to follow the 1st one, I'm not quite convinced that it's really came out of its very large shadow. Perhaps I need to see it again.

Was kinda hoping for a wee Juice Terry cameo as well!

I thought it was disappointing. It was a reasonably enjoyable film but not a patch on the first one.

In Trainspotting, each individual scene is a classic in its own right. A lot of T2 was pretty forgettable

I can't disagree. Good film, good to tap into the stories that we had left 20 year ago but a bit forgettable in comparison to the 1st.

Just back from watching it. Was decent but nothing special and not a patch on the original. Knew a couple of bods that appeared in it as well - which was unexpected.

Could imagine the loyalist pub scene will allow the masses of pie and bovril to sneer and feel superior and feed their prejudices about working class no voters. Probably the same types that are outraged at Jeremy Kyle's portrayal of working class people on his show...

Come on, you know as well as I do that the pub scene captured the mindset of that section of society pretty well.

Trainspotting was a ground-breaking novel and Porno was dull, predictable, derivative pish.  I suspect the films will be the same.

There's very little lifted from Porno that's in T2, in fact there's probably just as much used from the original Trainspotting book, particularly one pivotal scene about Begbie.

There's always one.

Actually, this time there's more than one.

Don't get me wrong, it was an entertaining enough film. But I'd probably hyped it a bit much in my head, and was always going to be a bit of a let-down.

But I have a couple of questions about the ending... obviously don't read unless you've seen the end...

So in the end, Veronika persuades Spud to forge Sick Boy and Renton's signatures to sign the £100k over to her, so that she can bugger off back to Bulgaria. She promises that she will send his cut to Gail + kid.... is that correct? So, in other words, Spud "who never hurt a fly", was doing over his 2 best mates and putting all his trust in someone he hardly knew?

Also, if I've got it right, can anyone hazard a guess why they didn't show a scene once Sick Boy and Renton figure out they're been ripped off? That could have been great - especially since they'd probably suspect each other.

I wasn't sure about the ending either and either way find it disappointing to see the money go to fringe characters.

To me I don't think the money wasn't the most important thing in the story, sick boy still jumped in to save Rentons life and Renton returned home to be there for his father who he had disappointed so much for all these years.
