Quote from Archie in the match preview

Quote

“We’re having to manage Kris Doolan a little bit at the moment as he is having a bit of trouble with his knee. That’s an ongoing issue though so we just need to balance it as best we can at this stage, The other positive is that we will hopefully be looking at getting Stuart Bannigan back by somewhere in mid December which will give us a huge boost.”

Given our previous track record of managing niggling knee injuries that have resulted in Fraser, Bannigan and Dumbuya missing about 4 years between them, that statement is ... ominous?

Yep that's certainly an unwelcome ominous addition to the already ominous position we find ourselves in.

As if it wasn't already bad enough that we are seemingly unable to start a league season before mid-October at the best of times, now we're suffering even more long-term injuries than the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

As things stand, 10th this season will be an even better achievement than last season's 6th.

Nice to see you lads reaping a bit of your sowing.

We had a great record against Dundee United the couple of years before your relegation. Pretty confident of keeping that up next season when we're relegated.

So  then, to take stock after bravely succumbing to a narrow 5-1 defeat against Killie:

We can fairly safely write off the Aberdeen and Celtic games for points. Other than that, Motherwell battered us at Fir Park 3-0 already, and the win we scraped against Dundee was very fortuitous, so those will be hard games to get points from. We did manage draws against County and the Accies (yay!) so they probably represent our best chance of getting wins. Got to think we'll still be bottom come 1st January, unfortunately.

After that, how on earth do we save the season?

Seriously though, we’re done for.

We don’t have the players or management to get us out of this. It’s off to Livingston and Greenock next season for us.

A bit of a radical solution here: the boys can start doing their fucking jobs like they have before.
