capt_oats
I have a strange feeling (based on nothing right enough) that we might go for Calvin Miller on loan - Tierney is thoroughly first choice and im sure Izaguirre is still there. Izaguirre left last month.

Ad Lib
1. Turnbull and Keown are an excellent defensive partnership 2. Bannigan needs to watch his temper 3. Storey is decent. Need to see how he does with more chances though. 4. Sammon was fine but not convinced he's an obvious upgrade on the winger position than who else we have 5. Barton still isn't quite up to pace. Seems a bit, not quite "lazy" but just a tad pedestrian on the ball 6. Elliott's crossing is excellent I think, two league defeats notwithstanding, we should have a solid enough season. SetPieceSpecialist
Think we should cut Sammon a bit of slack considering he had to play 90 minutes with a group of players he met about an hour before kick-off.

Yeah that's totally fair. I think we'll get more joy out of using him as a target man or as part of a front two.

Not sure anyone is giving him a hard time tbh.... except ehmm St. Johnstone fans
SetPieceSpecialist
Not sure anyone is giving him a hard time tbh.... except ehmm St. Johnstone fans A few folk giving it the 'I'm not convinced' routine in various places. To be honest, I thought he did well. Every header he won and got to one of our players was one less time we gave possession straight back to Celtic from a punt.
professor challenger
Never been so impressed with a central defensive partnership.
Red 'N Yellow
Yeah both CHs did well, got stuck in, put in last ditch tackles and Turnbull looks comfortable playing out from the back. Booth looked a lot better today as well, made 2 crucial clearances off the goal line.
MARYHILLISWONDERFUL
T&K* are solid. *Turnbull & Keown
Partick Monkey
Difficult debut for Sammon and Storey but did well. Using The Sellick as some kind of yardstick for the season ahead I think we've a lot to be positive about. They will be taking 3 or 4 goals off of bottom 6 teams every league match no doubt. 0-1 is a decent result against what is probably the strongest bunch of **** we've ever seen! That said, there's a lot we need to work on offensively... Apart frae Elliot! MOM. Christie Elliot. *edited to say t i m s Edited August 11, 2017 by Partick Monkey
Thistle4eva
I'm already worried we will only have turnbull for 1 season ..Him and keown were class tonight and covered each other constantly! My only complaint about tonight was sammon not throwing his body in front of thcams shot. Apart from that Celtic looked as pissed off as I've seen them recently that they weren't hammering a team
Nightmare
Echo the sentiments about Elliott as MOTM tonight. He's had a good start to the season and was excellent today. If Dumbuya is ever fit again he won't just walk right back in this time. Thought Keown and Turnbull looked really good as well. Niall Keown really is just a quality player at this level and I'd say we're fortunate that he's had such a shite time with injuries in the past. Does all the basics very well and could easily play at a higher level. Edited August 11, 2017 by Nightmare
Estragon
Hearing reports that Conor Sammon played fairly well tonight. Sincerely hoping he does well at Firhill. Cracking professional who deserves to be able to put all this Hearts crap behind him.

Agree with this, with the caveat that Keown does have a tendency to get a bit panicked and swing with the wrong foot when under little pressure. He is really young for a centre half though and, when he irons these niggles out, will be too good for this league.
mrcat1990
Elliot was the fucking don last night in terms of defensive work and starting counters. Continues like this and an uncrippled Dumbaya won't even be a consideration.
