The Partick Thistle thread

It was probably cleared up already but the SFA suspension list for this weekend confirms it's just Osman and Devine who miss the Inverness game. Devine not as big an issue as it might've been earlier in the season now Dumbuya is back as Gordon can move across.

Watched the Lokeren highlights, fair to say TC kept that from being an uber beasting, though Devine in the first half had an absolute shitemare. Good strike by Lawless and Azeez, well, he got it over the line so that'll help.

Less said about the defending in the second half the better, Keown gets beaten for pace for 2 & 5, and the 3rd Ridgers literally passes the ball straight to one of their players 25 yards out.

Would Leeds still want him if they get promoted? He'll just get farmed out on loan (unless it's back to us!)

Even in the PL Garry Monk signed plenty of young players from Scotland of a similar age with Lindsay (Jay Fulton, Stephen Kingsley, Adam King, Botti Biabi, Ryan Blair). Doubt he'd get a game in their 1st team straight away but there's always a chance, Stephen Kingsley has made 8 appearances in the PL already this season.

Leeds get promoted and there is little to no chance Liam will play. Leeds will have to spend money to establish and whilst their previous poor spending habits are long gone, the sad fact is that there is so much money in the English game especially in the PL I would think he'd be lucky to make the bench. For a team like Leeds he's worth a punt for £500-750k. There is definitely a chance he can develop into a top class defender. Liam is doing really well for us but to step into EPL. I don't see it. Not presently.
That being said there is a dearth of good young central defenders in the British leagues. Especially Scottish ones. He's certainly based on the market a commodity an English championship should be after.

Balls in Jags court on this for sure and it's exactly the philosophy. Academy product. 2-3 years in first team and sell on so we can reinvest. No issue with that at all.

Apart from our first season up when the squad need major surgery and we signed about half a dozen players and let the same amount go, signings in the last 2 January windows have all been done late on, 2nd season Booth was 28th Jan and Taylor deadline day and last year both Nesbitt and German were deadline day. I’m not expecting anything too different this year.
