The Partick Thistle thread

Got jagzone - haven't really used it all that much as yet. I'm fully behind the match replays, which I think will come in quite handy seeing as I work most weekends at the minute, although tbh there's not been any matches on it I really want to watch from this season as yet. Can't find a way to use the audio commentary at work which doesn't eat my battery which is annoying, but suspect that's more down to me being pretty poor when it comes to getting the most out of smartphones.

Had a wee look and a thought just came to me there - would be quite nice if the club has the rights/holds any archive footage of some of the better Thistle moments from prior to this season and put on some classic footage to it. Admittedly a lot of the stuff will already be on youtube or the spfl highlights page but if the club has any old tapes or whatever (or even more recently, any footage of stuff like the 5-1 win over Dunfermline with Forbes 35 yarder, Erskine's goal against Falkirk or a certain Jimmy Craigen goal) then I'd like that.

Would cheer me up from our recent form anyway...

also signed up to the player's fund; the accounting student/desperate-need-for-reassurance in me would sorta like some sort of feedback from the club on how that's progressing along, even if only 6 monthly or whatever or some kind of thank you email, but it's early days yet I suppose. It's a pedantic thing but I think, since signing up for it, that all that happens is that £X amount is coming out of my bank each month, without any feedback other than an email from the third party that's handling the fund containing a copy of the direct debit mandate, which is nagging at me a wee bit. edit: nothing on the club site I can find either - did find that at least 100 people are signed up to Jagzone though, which was very shortly after it was launched, which was encouraging.

I suggested a "Classic Goals" feature to SLJ. Purely because I want to see Dorrans' overhead kick vs Peterhead again. It's nowhere to be seen online and in its absence I've built it up in my head as the greatest goal there's ever been.

SOLD, if you add in some of Boab McCulloch's free kicks/brutal tackles.

Sounds like it which is a blow but at least we have someone apart from Scully. Pretty sure this guy is a 'penalty save specialist'. Mind commentators mentioning it in a Preston game a couple seasons ago.

Archibald seems to have some amount of faith in Scully. Do you reckon this keeper will be viewed as back up?

It'd be pretty ominous for Scully's time at the club if he wasn't.

Hopefully not.

We can prey.

Has it been officially confirmed how long Cerny is out for yet? Judging by this, it's going to be until Christmas at least.

I can't quote chapter and verse, but I would think that when a player is registered then it has to be until the next transfer window at the very least.

Thorsten is signed till January bit I think he was more concerned about how long Cerny is out for.

At the Edinburgh Jags meet the manager night last night Archie seemed to suggest that Cerny's injury was healing OK but that he might continue to require short periods out that would decrease in length as the injury heals and he gets back to 100%. So rather than being out completely I suspect that we will see Cerny some weeks and the new guy in others as an attempt at managing Cerny's injury sensibly.

One interesting thing that Archie said was that he was a really big fan of the U20s in the Challenge Cup. I know that its not popular with a lot of supporters but from a footballing point of view he was very pleased with the opportunities it gives our young players to learn.

Yeah, I saw he was signed till January, but JF is spot on with what I mean. Seems like Uncle Psychosis has answered that from the meet the manager answer. Smart move to get someone else in so that we aren't rushing Cerny back and relying on Scully.
