Some funding available for Hampden if the euro bid is accepted. My gut reaction is that £14m isn’t close to what is needed, although this is only from Glasgow City Council and I dare say they could attempt to source funding from elsewhere too.

Euro 2028: Hampden could be in line for £14m windfall if UK & Ireland bid wins https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63519445

If inflation continues as at present until 2028 then £14m would only be enough for some extra turnstiles (which tbf would be a big improvement).

You just know this cash will be used or improve the hospitality suits and TV camera positions and the like rather than actual changes the fans want to see.

I don't think £14m would be enough to redevelop both ends but it might be enough to improve the transport links and reduce running costs by sticking a load of solar panels on the roof

I'm pretty sure that some architects could make a plan to redesign the interior of Hampden - install new seating etc. Remove all seating to reveal a 'blank canvas' for the arty and skilful types to design. Personally the bigger British grounds are way better than Wembley and Hampden. Murrayfield I like, the new ground outside for Edinburgh perfect for them. What if a big sponsor could get naming rights for Hampden, may help the costs involved.

It's between £9M and £14M from all sources IIRC.

Reportedly to improve and/or increase executive boxes & suites plus refurbish serveries, external cladding, access ways and maybe renew seating etc.

I guess that will be it until 2040 when the need to repay any lottery funding grants expires, at that point id anticipate the SFA would sell the site and hope to start again elsewhere.

Is this new or have I just missed it?

Holmes Miller designed a lot of stuff most of which didn't get past CGI rendering

They did design the the north stand extension at Hampden. The full stadium pipe dream design may have been an effort to make the cost of the extension look insignificant

What a twallie.

Still, if you can get the Evil Twins' B teams into the SPFL at the 8th attempt, everything will be fine, eh, Maxwell?

To be fair they can’t just magic the money out of nowhere.

Thats not to say I don’t think the SFA are totally incompetent though.
