Mortar Bored
On the back of the greatest achievements thread, it got me wondering. Are your achievements greater in feeling than someone else's? Is it better to have done ,than watched? Nothing on TV or any other medium is acceptable, what's the greatest sight you have seen with your own eyes? Could be a sight, sporting moment, act of selflessness / bravery etc. I'll predict the first answer is "Yer Maw" so I'll make my contribution later. Mortar Bored
Probably flying into Hong Kong at night. Was like being in Blade Runner. That's a great shout, I've never done that, but flying into Cape Town (daytime) is spectacular as is flying into Almaty in Kazakhstan. Truly spectacular. carpetmonster
Toss-up between daughter being born or the speedboat between Baltra and Isabela on the Galapagos. Or Sigur Ros while sat in the security pit at TITP so no crowd in front of us and it felt like a private gig. That was pretty spectacular.

maicoman
My first ever visit to the Isle of Man TT in 1988 watching the sidecars on the infamous Bray Hill in Douglas This was when they raced the 1000cc formula 1 machines Utter madness!!!! The speed the noise the commitment of the crews to tackle that place flat out will live with me forever Went back the following year to watch them again That was the last time the formula 1 machines would ever race theTT nd
