But Robertson always seemed to ask very good questions, even if the answers were non existent. Blackford stuttered and repeated himself. The usual economics around military orders in peace time interceded and the planned yard upgrades were dumped and the order split into 8 type 26s alongside 5, less capable type 31e Frigates to make up the numbers. Inevitably, the 5 Type 31e ships have been taken from the BAE Scotstoun yard with BAE teaming with Cammel-Laird in Northern England. Either three line whip to vote in favour of it or ditch it if you know you still can't win enough support from your backbenchers even with that option. I know they don't want to force the issue as it'll only lose more ground to Labour, but how much longer are the Tories going to let May go on?
